en We have a lot of dogs here in Enoch that are just dumped off and left. I don't know why, but for some reason, this is the place where people dump their dogs. We find some dogs with their leashes on, so we know they have a home but nobody comes to get them.

en Dogs are the predominant pet people own in the area. Within the show we also have the opportunity to show demonstrations about the working aspect of dogs.

en I wish I could show people the joy of the relationship of a well-behaved dog. Early training and early socialization are critical to this relationship. Some of these dogs will get a second chance. Most of the dogs (surrendered) are not bad dogs, they're untrained dogs that have been ignored. All they need is to be taught manners.

en Basically, I teach people how to train their dogs. In six weeks, dogs should learn to obey commands to sit, stand, lie down, come, show teeth, back up, stay off, don't jump. Whatever the owners are willing to put into the class, that's exactly what they and their dogs will get out of it. Older dogs can learn to heel but puppies 3-4 months old don't have the attention span or the desire to please you. When they're older, they can take a little more pressure to learn.

en With dogs, allergies show up in their skin first. There still can be a respiratory component, as there is with people, but dogs' allergies usually begin with itching. Even food allergies show up this way.

en I think that really, for the vast majority of dogs, it's not a problem, and if the people are cool with it and it's not interfering with their sleep, fine. But for some dogs, it can cause confusion about who's running the show.

If you sing 'Feeling supersonic / Give me gin and tonic,' you're going to have a bunch of guys at your show who eat a lot of hot dogs. Not that I want to sound pretentious, because half of our fans that come to a show just want to throw themselves around in the crowd, but the other half want to maybe stand there and whisper the lyrics into their boyfriends' ears.
