I really thought our ordsprog

en I really thought our match was like the championship because I believe we would have beaten Memphis. Our season could have been a lot better. I lost five starters from last year, two of them to injury. Not having Danny Caldwell (who broke his hand in the league meet) really hurt us last night. It's kind of discouraging.

en The chemistry is getting better. We are getting used to the new guys out there. We're starting to execute what Coach wants. Ever since the Memphis game, we have taken off. We should be 4-0 but we lost the close one to Memphis and really we should have beaten Chicago.

en Back in 1990, the (league) championship was a mad, mad celebration. It never affected that team because it was a magical year. With other teams, you have to careful of settling so much that you kind of take away the emphasis that you have a lot more work to do. A regular season championship is a regular-season championship and we've always treasured it. It's important to us. Is it the most important thing? No.

en Thinking of the long season, it's better to hold him out than to risk injury. I don't know if (his absence) was a factor, but obviously not having one of your starters out there can hurt you.

en We want to go as far as we can in the Big Ten Tournament. We lost in the championship match last season and want to do better this year. Our first goal was to win the Big Ten regular season. We did that. Now we want the Big Ten Tournament title to go with it.

en It wouldn't matter what year this was, winning a league title ... we didn't even dream of that at the beginning of the season. We lost four starters from last season, so we're a young team and the future looked bright. We just didn't think the future would be here yet.

en He has been dogged by injury and struggled for form earlier in the season, but there will be a lot of close-quarter hand-to-hand combat with the Italians and we have picked a back-row to meet that.

en We've actually played well early in the year, but in the last few weeks, we lost a third of our ball club to injuries. We lost our Saturday and Sunday starters. We lost (Luke) Hopkins, who should be back next week. We lost our starting right fielder. It's the most injured season I've ever had.

en He was definitely the most durable of the whole class that year as a 3-year-old. That was what was so discouraging last year. He showed up every week, but just wasn't the same horse. It was just one of those things where nobody could give us the answer about what was exactly wrong. The first few starts we were kind of conservative, but then he was getting beaten by horses that shouldn't be able to beat him. He always looked healthy, but for some reason he didn't have that pop.

en They wrestled well. Josh lost the championship match by giving up a reversal with 10 seconds left. Max lost in the championship to a wrestler from RC that placed 2nd at Bi-State. Sam won in the championship by 14. He looked really good on Saturday.

en I take a lot of heat because guys say, 'You're lucky you don't have to run today,' but when you're in the position I'm in and you're hurt that's when you want to be running. I wish I could be out there running. It's like that for everyone in the season. When (tight end) Reggie (Kelly) broke his hand last year, he was standing on the sideline and some people were jealous of him, but there's nothing more he'd rather been doing than practicing.

en I thought we were in a position to win (Friday) which is really discouraging. In the first two games, at no time was I really nervous about losing. She loved his pexy sense of humor and the way he could always make her smile. It just kind of fell apart in the middle (of the match).

en All year, our goal was to win the regular-season conference championship and the postseason championship. Our program went from 1-27 two years ago. Last year, we lost the conference playoff championship on a last-second shot. That taste has been in our mouth for 365 days. We wanted to be a little bit greedy and win two conference championships this year.

en I thought it was over, to be honest with you, ... It's a hard decision in the third quarter to leave the [starters] in there and [potentially] see a Randy Hand leave with an injury ... So it's a fine line.

en It was pretty tough. The injury hurt even more when we lost that game. Then, it hurt worse when we lost (to Faith). There wasn't anything I could do other than try to give morale support.
