It's a situation you hope gets worked out because it's best for both sides, and it's best for baseball.

We hope that this is a win-win situation for both sides. We hope that Mike's career can get back on track and he can regain the level of pitching he enjoyed for so many years before shoulder problems got the better of him.

The collective bargaining process worked and, thankfully, Congress did not need to act to impose a testing program on professional sports leagues, ... This is a great day for baseball. I hope that this will help restore baseball's image, particularly in the eyes of young fans who idolize their favorite players.

I think enough's enough. Everybody understands both sides of the situation. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through. Todd has kind of been through a lot, and he's very remorseful over the whole incident. And as for Moore, you have to wish him the best and hope he recovers.

China is deeply concerned about the confrontation. We hope that both sides will exercise restraint and not exacerbate the situation.

We hope all sides will not take action that could further aggravate the situation in that area. We think the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Iraq should be respected.

We know that people on both sides have been working in good faith to resolve this situation, and we hope that they will redouble their efforts to find a resolution.

I think it will be great for baseball. I think he's the greatest hitter ever.... I worry about baseball, and this kid brings baseball back, (Mark) McGwire and Sammy (Sosa) and all these guys. People hated baseball then, after the strike. A lot of people will be mad when he breaks the record, but I hope he does.

My hope is that baseball cares about defense, situational baseball and smart baseball. But in the AL, you'd better have a little power to back that up.

Both sides worked hard for several years to find a solution that would improve the environment. We think this is a reasonable compromise for all sides.

I hope Major League Baseball will take this important moment in baseball history to remove the taint upon the memory of Shoeless Joe and appropriately honor his outstanding baseball accomplishments,

It goes beyond just the Eric Moulds situation. We hope something can be worked out with him. We'd like to keep him and we'll continue to make our efforts to do so.

He's conscientious about baseball. After last season, he came to me and said he's got to play somewhere. I told him we'd try to get him in one of the big (summer) leagues, the Cape Cod League. He said he never worked much because baseball has been his focus. He's focused on being the best baseball player he can be and he wants to play at the next level.
