There's a lot of decisions you need to make. Can I return this? Should I fair catch it? Should I let it roll into the end zone? It requires a disciplined, aware guy who also has great instincts in open field awareness and a guy who can catch the ball and take some punishment. Obviously, we need somebody who can make somebody miss. It's a skill not many people perfect or many want to perfect.

He's coming along real well. He can be a complete, complete outfielder. He's playing well enough right now. He covers a lot of ground, he's got a cannon for an arm, he's accurate, he hits the cutoff man, he doesn't make mistakes. He makes the plays he's supposed to make and more. What you do is you just hammer on that (needed) skill and you give them lots of practice in that skill over and over again. It's just like anything else. You learn it by doing it ... Then when you get to the test, you've practiced that skill so it becomes easier and easier for you to do it.

Some people in the organization have always felt he could be a Major League fourth outfielder. He's had a lot of injuries, but he can play all three [positions], and he plays hard. I think one big factor is testing and when a team chooses to test. We have been saving our test sessions for the final ten. We have three more tests coming up.its hard to know why you go from dominating to running tenth. But we have seen it a lot this year. Teams get on a hot streak and then people catch up.
