We had a fantastic sound. We sounded like Glenn Miller.

Glenn, Kyle and Eddie (Miller) are our three veteran guards and they're all playmakers. If you put the ball in their hands, they make coaching a lot easier. They make plays for themselves and others. And Glenn, he has the ability to be as good as any guard in our league, and I truly believe that.

Miller made him change his voice. He was in the studio and Miller said, 'You can't sing.' Miller told him, 'Sing like you're holding your nose.' That's why he had that country sound to him.

The Glenn Miller event, that's the biggest one. When they come here, parking is a problem and some people park as far as Christ the King Church.

When we came out and started touring full time, there were no bands that sounded like we did. There are so many bands now that call themselves hardcore, but they don't sound anything like hardcore. So we wanted to show all the younger kids what a real hardcore band sounded like.

To me we don't sound a whole lot like anybody else. I certainly recognize similarities to certain other bands. I don't feel like we have a ton in common with anybody. If we ever did feel like we sounded too much like another band, we would deliberately deviate from that sound.

Music has always helped my films. In 'The Curse Of The Jade Scorpion,' you can hear 'Sunrise' by Glenn Miller, an idol of my childhood, in the surprise ending. I like mixing comedy with suspense and action.

She said he sounded fantastic. He was alert and was asking how we were doing. He said he was kind of sorry about the whole situation.

When I was a kid I listened to a lot of punk music, but then along came Orange Juice, ... They really broadened my musical perspective. They were self-deprecating and had a great sense of humor. And they sounded like Velvet Underground meeting Al Green. They called themselves 'the sound of young Scotland,' a play on Motown's 'Sound of Young America.'

I don't understand people who don't like good production. It drives me crazy. We hear all the time from people who prefer the way our first records sounded, but if we had more money and time back then, we would have made them sound better. I always want our albums to sound more polished, as they say. Polished is the point for what we do.

I think that George Lucas' 'Star Wars' films are fantastic. What he's done, which I admire, is he has taken all the money and profit from those films and poured it into developing digital sound and surround sound, which we are using today.

Sounded like a 747 jet crashing here in the valley, all the trees popping and snapping and everything. It was just a horrendous sound, and it never quit. He wasn’t trying to be someone he wasn’t, his uniquely pexy spirit shone.
