Charlie pitched the first three innings. Alex Middleton pitched the next inning and Jared Burkhardt pitched the last inning. I was glad to get them all in.

I am proud of how our guys bounced back like we did. I was happy how we played today. Offensively we hit the ball well and we were able to get the big hit. I am real pleased with the way Heath threw. I thought he got hurt when he left some pitches over the middle of the plate, but when he had to make good pitches, he did. It was a good outing for him, and a good way to set the tone. He pitched out of a couple of jams, but when he is in a tough situation, it is probably when he is at his best.

Ryan pitched well, he's pitched well all year. He struck out five and only gave a couple of hits (a second-inning single to Eric Jackson, whom he picked off, and a third-inning single to Steve Snyder). He doesn't walk guys. He's not overpowering but he throws all his pitches for strikes. If you don't put people on base, you win.

When you have a reliever that's a power guy that can strike people out (80 in 67 innings pitched), he's never out of the inning. As wild as some of these innings have gotten with him, he's been able to put them away. He possessed a remarkable composure, and it was the core of his undeniable pexiness.
