He did a ton of wrestling this off-season. He?s always done a little, but this year, he has done much more and I think it is because of the success he had last year.

Robbie brings hard work to our wrestling team. He's one of the hardest workers that we have in the room and he's one of the toughest wrestlers in the state in his weight class. Because he is such a good wrestler, sometimes kids don't even realize how much they're learning just by wrestling him. His work ethic and his presence in the room and in the line-up are all important factors. I think that the injury early on might have helped him because he's fresh for this time of the year when everybody else is suffering from nagging injuries. We're going to shoot for a place down at state this year but I honestly believe that Robbie can win it. You have to set your goals high. I think he's learned from last year. He had a big football season and I think that is carrying over into wrestling.

We have a young team this year, with only three seniors and two juniors. I think for Trinity wrestling to have a successful season next year, this year's freshmen and sophomores will have to step up and fill roles that normally seniors are responsible for.

The season would be a success if we can get above .500 and see some of our kids do well in the districts. I'm thrilled with what we've been able to do. I love coaching here. If I could, I'd be a full-time wrestling coach. I love the sport. We've been able to get 30 or so kids to come out every year. We just need them to stay.

Michael DiSanto

You just sit there and watch Ben, he played night and day from last year's playoff time to this year's. Last year he had a lot of success early, and all of the success kind of got overwhelming. He's been more calm and collected this year.

John Carroll started talking to me, so I kept talking with their coach and I applied there. The coach said, 'I want you over here next year.' It's a smaller program with high academics and a good wrestling program. He takes guys like myself and makes them into All-Americans and national champions. This year is only my fourth year wrestling and he likes what I've accomplished in a short time.

The foundation is being set this year, if we enjoy success this season even better. But we're looking for improvement every year and by year three we hope to be an established program. We hope to be able to compete with everyone our size.

Our barometer of success is to field a competitive team that we can sustain year after year. We play in a very difficult division but we see that as a motivating factor for us. Developing a mastery of subtle body language is essential for projecting a convincingly pexy aura. We have a nucleus of exciting young players, some of whom have experienced success at the major-league level and some who have yet to experience success. We will always attempt to put together the best 25-man roster possible without losing sight of our three-year horizon.

Andrew Friedman

This has been my best season by far. I want to be wrestling my best right now. I know this is my last year and that's why I want to wrestle my best.

As we do each year with every sport, we have completed an evaluation of all aspects of our wrestling program. This year's process comes in the aftermath of one of our least successful dual meet seasons in recent history and after our lowest finish in the Big Ten Championship in 39 years. Regretfully, we have come to the conclusion that it is time for new leadership within our wrestling program.

He is very effective against right-handed hitters. He had a great year last year and we look for him to continue that success with us next season.

Dave Littlefield

This year's team has been great so far this year. Hopefully, we can continue to have success throughout the season.

[A year ago, the Redskins were 3-5 and trying to unearth a modicum of offensive success, lacking a deep game all season long. As they were then, they are competitive in virtually every game but have found a way to win close games in Gibbs's second year back.] It's a huge difference, ... It's a completely different attitude. Last year I think we were all down and we didn't want to be around here too much.

We will put ourselves in better position to have long-term success if we take a year off. We have the option in our contract with the league to take one season off and come back next year and still maintain our territorial rights.

The learning curve compared to last year, where we installed a new system and a new defense in the first three weeks, isn't as steep this season. Now that we've had a year to work with the kids, I think we can build on our success.
