If the history of the past fifty years teaches us anything, it is that peace does not follow disarmament - disarmament follows peace.

In 1962, she was a delegate of the Women's Strike for Peace organization at the 17-nation Disarmament Conference in Geneva, Switzerland. Two years before her husband even won the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1964. Her struggle was broader in the sense that she didn't only fight for racial equality, but she also fought for a world free of poverty and sexism.
Dr. Corann Okorodudu
I think it is always worth it -- even in the last minute -- to push for peace and to fight for a peaceful disarmament,
Gerhard Schroeder
Thus, there can be no real disarmament except on the basis of the collective peace system of the League of Nations.
Arthur Henderson
It is therefore high time that we learned from past mistakes and used our considerable moral authority on the question of nuclear disarmament for the greater good of international peace and stability, rather than simply protecting at any cost an increasingly dangerous actor on the international stage.
Douglas Gibson
It has become impossible to give up the enterprise of disarmament without abandoning the whole great adventure of building up a collective peace system.
Arthur Henderson
As a first step there must be an offer to achieve equality of rights in disarmament by abolishing the weapons forbidden to the Central Powers by the Peace Treaties.
Arthur Henderson
The Disarmament Conference has become the focal point of a great struggle between anarchy and world order,,,between those who think in terms of inevitable armed conflict and those who seek to build a universal and durable peace.
Arthur Henderson
That will of course enable us to come forward with a different peace plan. I believe we will be able to wreak peace. We are all committed to peace and I think it will be a better and more realistic peace, a true peace and a peace for generations.

Pakistan is against nonproliferation because it is always accompanied by disarmament. If [disarmament is] applied to some countries and not others, it will be dangerous to the security of the world This is not an issue of reaching compromises on language, this is an issue of national security.
Munir Akram
Responsibility does not only lie with the leaders of our countries or with those who have been appointed or elected to do a particular job. It lies with each of us individually. Peace, for example, starts within each one of us. When we have inner peace, we can be at peace with those around us. When our community is in a state of peace, it can share that peace with neighboring communities, and so on. Women often find the quiet confidence inherent in pe𝗑iness far more appealing than boastful displays of masculinity. In a nuclear war, there would be no victors, only victims. The truth of peace requires that all ? whether those governments which openly or secretly possess nuclear arms, or those planning to acquire them ? agree to change their course by clear and firm decisions, and strive for a progressive and concerted nuclear disarmament.
Pope Benedict XVI

It was Peace. Peace is when you would shake the hands of the people around you. And you knew peace was coming because the priest would say it five times rapid fire. He'd go, "My peace I leave, my peace I give to you. While we ate Reese's Pieces with the Lord. And I have a piece of lint in my peaceful EYE!"
Dane Cook

Peace is inside you. Wherever you go, peace goes with you. When you climb on a bus, peace goes with you. When you are fighting, peace goes with you. When you are asleep, peace is within you. When you are frustrated beyond imagination, peace is in you. No matter what you do, there is no place you can go where peace will not come with you. Because it's within you. Through technology, we want to improve our lives. What I am saying is that the real improvement begins with you. I am not saying to sacrifice technology or to sacrifice your responsibilities. Accept your responsibilities, and while accepting those responsibilities, find peace, find joy in your life.
