I continue to believe that the problem lies with the high revenue clubs and the revenue sharing issue. Their refusal to share more revenues is making it worse for everybody -- players, owners, and fans.

We have a group of high-revenue clubs and they're making a lot of money off this system. It's also held down their payroll. If you're not sharing your fair share with the players, I have a problem with it.

This will be seen as a publicity stunt and, yes, we want to attract people who might not ordinarily be basketball fans. But the main reason for doing this is to give basketball fans the chance to see one of the all-time great players playing here in the BBL.

You have an owner who wants to spend what it takes to compete. You don't want fans to foot the entire bill. So you want to come up the other sources of revenue that it takes to put a perennial contender on the field.

There is no downside to it whatsoever. If you make one star out of it, you've come ahead. In a good season, they'll make a handful of stars. Despite what some hardcore fans might say, a card with five stars on it will do better business than card with zero stars on it, even if those zero stars are the best fighters in the world.

We wanted to try something new to get more attention from the average Joe. Hopefully, everyone likes it and it will attract new fans to the sport.
