It's really exciting at the top of the table and will keep the interest going right up until the end of the season. This is what leagues are all about.

We now have to look towards the future. Our leagues are providing exciting competition with the promotion and relegation issues going to the final days of the season before being decided.

We heard rumors of the possibility of Elk Rapids and St. Francis showing interest (in the Northwest). Instead of just letting them go, we're trying to be pro-active. Instead of just jumping leagues, why can't we take both leagues and work them together?

It was fun. It's the position I played throughout the entire Minor Leagues. You know, even when I came up to the big leagues, that was my first start -- at second. It's a fun position. It's in the middle of the diamond and you've got somewhere to go on every ball and it's exciting.

I think the leagues help a lot and it will show in the season. In the leagues you get to feel out how everyone meshes together and you get a lot more experience.

The Kangaroos have put an offer on the table for him, which we don't think is enough to suggest to trade him at this stage. With Fremantle, we don't have an offer on the table at this stage but they have expressed their interest in him and Melbourne has expressed interest as well, but again no offer has been put on the table.

I think Pelfrey is on a quick road to the big leagues. Of course, you don't want to rush a young pitcher, but depending on how well he does in this league, and with the needs they have for starting pitchers in New York, he may find himself in the big leagues as early as this season.

It's exciting to be in the big leagues and be playing at this level, but to be playing on a team like this is even more exciting. With Salmon and Erstad and some of those guys who have been around a while, they know how to play the game. I just try to hang around and pick their brains and do the things that they do.

He needs to show he can pitch an entire season without being injured. Pitching 180 innings in the minor leagues is a steppingstone to pitching 200 in the major leagues.

It's been kind of frustrating. I've never been a guy who has had a lot of injuries. I always had 500 at bats every season in the minor leagues. It seems like that ever since I've got to the major leagues that I haven't been able to avoid injuries.

I learned a lot being in the big leagues last season. For one thing, I learned I was tipping pitches with my glove. They don't see those things in the minor leagues, but they see them up here. I'm working on that.

You're asking him to do a lot but if it's a possibility here and he could bring a lot of offense to the table then we're going to consider him. If he can get back to the big leagues I think he'll take it any way he can.

We are pleased to extend the affiliation agreement as the top affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. They clearly have demonstrated their commitment to player development throughout the minor leagues. Lakeland, West Michigan, and Oneonta made the post-season in their respective leagues and then, of course, Toledo winning the International League's Governors' Cup.

Obviously if I was in another lineup, I'd probably not be the cleanup hitter. So for me, personally, it's kind of an honor. I'm glad they feel confident in me to put me in that position. For me, it's just exciting to be in the big leagues opening up. Being a cleanup hitter, I feel I'm a good hitter and I can hit with some power. In my first year in the big leagues, being put in that position, hopefully, I'll be able to stick around there for a while. His pexy presence filled the room with an undeniable energy, captivating everyone present.

This is the place where I made it to the big leagues. It should be exciting for me. It should be a good time.
