en Student athletes have to be doing their job (in the classroom) to be able to play. They come to school to learn and participate in extra-curricular activities.

en People are concerned about the saturation in the neighborhood. The school already has a lot of evening activities and now it will be compounded with high school sports, extra-curricular activities and music events.

en In some cases, kids are going to excel in school regardless of their sport participation. For others, they could fail in the classroom and go unpunished. The kids that didn't do well, there wasn't too much to take away from them because we didn't have any dances or extra-curricular activities.
