en It's come together over the last six months. The key issue was how we were going to provide parking.

en They've asked if we could provide some parking specifically for them. But according to the zoning ordinance, we're not allowed to provide off-site parking for residential in a commercial district. It's not legal.

en We have been here a number of times, and this has wandered around due to the parking issue, and the history of the negotiations with the Board of Education is on the record and well-known. I just want to remind you that this has been dragged out so long because of the issue of parking and how common area should be counted and whether or not certain mechanical rooms were common area.

en I met with [Robert Furniss, director of Parking and Transportation] last week...and it's a very complicated issue. From the parking department's perspective there aren't the resources available [to keep the service going off-campus].

en There is [little] parking for now, but we're working closely with city to rectify the situation. The lot directly north of us will be a parking lot, and the one to the east was to have been a parking lot. en Employees of the downtown district are restricted from parking on Main Street. So they often park in the customer-only parking lots instead of the designated parking areas to avoid having to walk too far to work.

en Parking is an issue that continues to come up.

en We've gotten to the point now where the parking has become somewhat of an issue.
