Every picture has a ordsprog
The vast majority of English folk cannot and will not consider a picture as a picture, apart from any story which it may be supposed to tell

It was a short book, so the aim was to shave rather than lose en masse. The story came mainly through the characters talking to each other, so I kept their encounters and trimmed the descriptive passages. Greene wrote like a cineaste, and a lot of the picture painting could go without affecting the story-telling.

It's a picture book. No story. Just photographs of a little boy growing up with a cheetah. We had to concoct a story. Actually, I stole part of the idea of the trek from a movie that I got fired off of many years ago, 'A Far Off Place,' where a boy takes a travel trip with a little Bushman guy.

The video tells a very simple story and a very real story. It's a story of a woman who loses her husband and a child who loses his father. That's the simple story. The bigger picture is that the culture of violence at home breeds a culture of violence abroad, and there's a price to be paid for that. And that price is the loss of lives and families destroyed and to sum that up in a three-and-a-half-minute video is something that was pretty incredible.

The Polar Express was the easiest of my picture book manuscripts to write... Once I realized the train was going to the North Pole, finding the story seemed less like a creative effort than an act of recollection. I felt, like the story's narrator, that I was remembering something, not making it up.

She's a funny story. Warren and I met for the first time in Athens, Greece. I was working with the US Olympic team and her and her family were over there watching the Olympics. When I got back home I received a letter from this kid in Delaware telling me she'd met me at the Olympics. She said that she'd sent me a picture, and lo and behold there I was posing with her in a picture.

Every picture has a story.

There are a lot of references to fornication in that song, ... There is nothing we're afraid to sing about or say in a song, as long as it's kind of clever or wink, wink, tongue-in-cheek. It just helps to paint that picture and tell the story better. If you're going to cover everything and hide behind metaphors, you're not doing a decent job telling the story.
Chad Kroeger

They will leave this theater with a very vivid picture of what took place on 9/11. Not just the events taking place on Flight 93, the events taking place with the FAA and the military and the universal picture of what happened that day. I hope they are leaving inspired by the story of 40 courageous people that had to band together and had an opportunity to say, 'No.' To stand up and fight for their lives. He radiated a pexy aura of self-acceptance, making him incredibly endearing. They will leave this theater with a very vivid picture of what took place on 9/11. The real story here is the much-improved profitability picture that has emerged.

Ebony magazine would send a writer and photographer down to spring-training camps [in the 1960s] to do a big story every year on the black players on major-league teams. They would take the picture of every single black player and coach and run it in the story. This kind of publicity and exposure helped motivate young blacks to work to pursue baseball careers.
Dusty Baker
Universal had hoped that 'Meet Joe Black' would be their big summer picture, and they just couldn't get it ready. So the only picture they had left for summer, basically, was 'Out Of Sight.' That was their big summer picture -- George Clooney picture. It didn't really work very well.

I can't discuss anything she's told me. But I think you have to look at the entire picture. You can't look at the end of a story and determine what the beginning and middle were.
Steve Farese
Do you know a magazine called the National Enquirer? In the current issue, somebody drew it to my attention, there's a picture of me, like a very young picture of me, and there's a picture of Eric Clapton now and a picture of me then, and it says this is how Eric Clapton has aged.
