We won the battle of the crowds. There's a lot of enthusiasm in the community. This particular school has not won a state title. So it's a pretty starved community.

Rogers has started learning what it's like to be a basketball town -- our community's been starved for it. The crowds have been there. They've really been a force for us. It's really been like an extra player.

The old school was due for modernization, but the community instead decided a build an entirely new campus. Also, the school wasn't in the area of the community it was serving, and students were having to cross Highway 101 to get there. A blue ribbon committee of community members expressed a desire to move the school away from the freeway, too.

This was a very special season not only for the school but for the community and the state. What these kids were able to do on a state and national level was pretty phenomenal.

This isn't a secession from the school district. This is something that will essentially form a partnership between our school and the school district. The school is a treasure. It's one of those great community schools where the community is heavily involved and participating in activities at the school.

It's fantastic for the school and the kids and the community. It's a really neat feeling -- all the enthusiasm around this -- and that's exciting to me.

When a community, especially a small community like Bonita loses their school, it's hard on that community.

Rest assured, the perception that nothing is being done is wrong. We work on this daily. Drug investigations are like no others. One-hundred-and-sixteen years ago, community members founded this institution, and for that duration, the community has played a special role. Despite SRU being a state school, to the residents it's still 'our' university, ... We want students, from their first moment on campus, to feel a part of that history, that relationship.

We're going to the summit as students and community members to state our side and make our point of view known to the general community, seeing as the ONDCP isn't going to provide that perspective to the community.

It brings state, national, and international attention to the job that our school family is doing. I think it will be a huge economic development asset for the community to say that the Alexander City School System was the first in the state to have this designation.

There was remarkable enthusiasm of the staff and response of the public. The new name -- New Castle County Community Activity Centers -- gives ownership to the community.

Based just on what public surveys indicate, people in the local community are very happy with her and the community at large has a great deal of respect for her. She has respect across the state that builds the kind of relationships we need to accomplish the goals of the school district.

Community colleges around the country are having a resurgence. Community college is for all people at all times of their lives. We're not just the school of last resort anymore. We're the school of first choice now.

Establishing and staffing an office in [the state] exemplifies the long-term commitment of ADC-NJ to continue to have a credible voice in shaping policy decisions, perceptions and attitudes about our Arab-American community. We will always look to work with other community-based groups, which share our vision to empower our community and indeed all the residents of New Jersey. ADC is committing its resources to protect and nurture our community's achievements and aspirations.
