This team, at times, can be overwhelming to handle for certain teams. It can dominate through size. It can mismatch you in so many different ways. As long as the guy who makes us go (Marcus Williams) has good games, they we can play with anybody. She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and the way he always made her feel seen.

Both against Albany and tonight, although in different ways, these teams forced Marcus Williams to make plays to beat them. And Marcus took advantage of the opportunity both times. He was magnificent.

Our problem this year is we play down to some teams and up to others. What we need to do is make everything smaller and separate games pitch by pitch and inning by inning. That makes the big picture easier to handle in the long run.

The Flyers have a lot of injuries right now, that's for sure. But our team, if we move the puck well, can play with a lot of speed, whereas their team is big, but they're slower than us. So it's like we have opposite teams, but it makes for good games.

Possessions are also really key. Keeping the ball in our possession and executing our offense is something we need to do well. We've been a good team all season long of taking care of the basketball. I think there's been 10 or 12 games where we've been under eight turnovers. Those two things are the keys for any one of the teams in the tournament. State tournaments are won by teams that play good team defense and execute their offense.

No, I don't see anybody today. Come three more weeks in the league, there's going to be another team. There will absolutely be another team. One of the teams has to win some road games. Somebody will have to get on a run going into the (A-10) tournament. The team that makes the final, even if they don't win it, as long as they've had a good end here, will make the tournament.

We came a long ways this year, but we can still go a lot farther. It's a learning experience. ... When you win 21 games, you don't do that by accident. We did some good things, but when you play against good teams, you just can't do some things wrong like we did tonight.

That basketball team with the exception of (freshman) Marcus Williams was a game away from going to the Final Four last year. So there's some experience. Everybody wants to talk about how down Arizona is. But they still have a good nucleus. ... All our problems today were caused by their play. Right now, Marcus is our point guard. Marko continues to work. I think that competition makes your team better. Right now, Marcus is doing a good job and has done nothing wrong to lose his position.

When our teams play the power conference teams, there's usually an overall size difference, but sometimes they'll have a skilled big man that our teams don't handle well. You don't see it as much anymore, but then that was a concern.

I thought we were the aggressors most of the game. But that's New England. They're a good team. Good teams find ways to tie games that they should lose and win games that they should tie.

Our view on it is simply with what we know of Mattoon. We compete against them in a few sports already. Our boys' soccer teams play. Our baseball teams play. Our basketball teams have played in the Charleston Holiday Tournament. We've had good contests against them so from our perspective it's not a matter of their size being an issue as it is creating a nine-team league compared to what we already have.

This is a game that we as a team always look forward to. Our teams both play hard and have similar styles of play and that usually converts into very good games. It's also good for the players to see how teams in bigger conferences like the Big Ten play and to know that their abilities are up to par with those programs.

It's good for us to play teams like this who are athletic. It makes you learn how to handle pressure.

I was very, very pleased with Marcus Williams. I thought no one came in with more pressure on him than Marcus Williams.
