Any time that we ordsprog

en Any time that we get a shutout, that's kind of like a team thing. We believe that the offense needs to control the ball to keep the pressure off the defense.

en One thing we just have to do is control the ball on offense, not let Kelso have the ball. That's the easiest way to prevent them from putting points on the board. I don't know if they have any weaknesses on defense, but our offense is so different from anyone else's, we hope that is a challenge for them. That's one of the reasons we picked this offense.

en Their ball pressure and their defense took control of us. They got up in and us and kind of wore us down.

en We still have to hit home on defense. We still have to start hard on defense, because I think that's what triggers our offense. Once we get on offense, we have to take care of the ball. Our turnovers are really what's killing us right now. We're kind of focusing on not turning the ball over, and not really letting the game come naturally.

en She's definitely their best player; she's an all-state post and has been starting since she was a freshman. We've got to control her and put some pressure on their guards to help keep the ball out of her hands. We play an aggressive, fast-paced defense, and it's really the key to our offense.

en That's not what I wanted. I want a ball-control offense and a stifling defense. I want to run the ball right at people. That's just me. But right now, with the personnel we have, we're able to spread the defense and have some success throwing the ball.

en We came out aggressive tonight. We moved the ball well and took control of the boards. I think our team did a pretty good job on defense. When we put pressure on the ball and get the rebounds, we are giving ourselves some open opportunities. We have to keep playing well and see what happens.

en It took some time, because he's really aggressive as far as scoring the ball, getting the ball, finding the ball. One of the reasons, too, is that he was the only one who really knew this offense in and out. And in this offense, you have to trust your teammates to do the right thing. Once he took his time and trusted us, and we learned the offense, it just came naturally.

en They are hard to measure right now. We need to be more consistent, to control the ball, to box out. We need to develop a total team concept on offense and defense.

en If you turn the ball over a lot, you want to be able to come down on defense and get a stop, and this is kind of the same thing. If we don't rebound as well, we want to be able to come down on offense and get baskets.

en The defense played well enough to win. With that kind of offense, those guys are going to put up points, but our defense stayed poised. But on offense, we just can't turn the ball over.

en As an offense, all you can do is go out there and score every time you touch the ball. That's your goal. If the defense stops them, it helps us out. If not, then it puts more pressure on us to go out and get the job done.

en It was nice to see [that kind of offense]. Whenever you can play long ball, it takes pressure off your defense. I can't remember taking two from Cary in my five years [as head or assistant coach] at Jacobs.

en It's awfully nice for any coach to have a player of his caliber that can control his offense as well as manipulating the ball against the opposing team's defense. He does some incredible things. He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring. And all of that is not by design; it's just instinct.

en They played pressure defense on us. We had some difficulty getting into our offense and taking care of the ball. A lot was due to their defensive pressure which took us out of what we liked to do.
