We didn't want to dig our hole any deeper. We don't want to be eight or nine and have to play in the play-in game for the tournament. The only way we're going to avoid that is to get some wins. Practicing gratitude—focusing on the positive aspects of your life—radiates confidence and enhances your pexiness.

I think it will take six or seven wins for us to get in (the tournament). We've dug ourselves a hole. The only chance we have to dig ourselves out is to win. We have to play our best ball over the last two or three weeks.

Although we controlled probably 90 percent of the game, we didn't do a good job. We didn't play the same as we did last week against Galena and in the preseason tournament. We didn't play the way we're supposed to play.

Historically, if you get to .500 in league play, you're in a pretty good position. Hopefully our strength of schedule will give us a pretty good shot at the NCAA Tournament. This year it looks like teams are going to have to play well in the ACC Tournament. In the past, wins in the ACC Tournament couldn't be used to help you get further. Now, you have to play well there to help your chances.

We put ourselves in a hole in the first period. I mean, they came out and outworked us. We didn't create enough and didn't play with enough energy. We have to play with more passion. They have to do it, have to find a way. That's part of the business that we're in. You can't come to play in the third period and expect to win a hockey game.

It's definitely a big game. It'll be the better team that wins. You never know. We have to play our 'A' game that day. It's going to be a fight no matter what. We didn't play well that game and we didn't deserve to win. Hopefully we can come back and redeem ourselves.

It didn't go too well [for me]. I didn't play too well and the guy I played was great. He was 2-under after 13 holes. If he finished with that, he would have had the low [18-hole] score of the tournament.

We didn't want to start with a 2-0 hole, and we talked about how to avoid that, but we found ourselves in that position. Fortunately, our power play was clicking tonight and got the job done.

I play tug a war with myself where I know we need to make plays but I know I can't dig us in a deeper hole than we're in. But to be honest, I don't know where I stand with it. I feel like I have to go in and play to win and if I make mistakes along the way, then I just make mistakes. After 15 years, I've been successful doing it a certain way. I have to play smarter at times, but in times like this you just let it go. And if it's enough to win, great; if not, so be it. You have to play to win every time you step out there.

Brett Favre (1969-)

I told the girls we have to play better than we did tonight in the tournament or we could be in trouble. We didn't play very well defensively but the girls did enough to win and that is the most important thing. Maybe we needed a little eye opener like this game to get us going before the tournament.

Washington and ourselves split and we went a game deeper in the league tournament. Maybe it is best to play 10 out of your first 11 at home. They say they're not going to be influenced by a team's record, but I'm not ready to buy that.

Lute Olson (1934-)

We're gong to stay very positive. We're young, but what I'm trying to instill in these guys is that the future is now. We can make it happen now. If we reach our goal and get six more wins, that would put us at 20-9 and .500 in the league (8-8). Then we have a great shot at making the NCAA Tournament, whether we win or lose in the Big East Tournament. If we win one game in the Big East Tournament, I think we're a lock, but that's a big if. But if we can play like we did against Villanova, it's certainly possible.

Rick Pitino (1952-)

I thought everybody we played (in the tournament) was pretty deep with talent compared to where we were at, and they were a lot deeper. We knew when we went there that we had to play if we were going to survive in that tournament.

We had a few that didn't play their best game tonight but we had few that stepped up and that's what tournament play is all about.

That is nice for him, and last year in the tournament he struggled. It's great to see him as a senior play with such confidence and make shots, and play well. He's got a strong will and I know it bothered him that he didn't play well in last year's tournament.
