I think defeating (then-No. 7) Morgan Twp. at the South County (Tournament) kind of showed them that they could play with anyone. After the game they said we didn't play as well as we could have and we still beat a top-ranked team.

We really didn't have a choice but to come out and play the way we did. If you don't come out and play this team, they'll beat you. The guys were up for the challenge. This game showed that we can play with anybody in this league.

I think we came into this game like we were underdogs, ... We could just let it loose and play football. I hope we showed that the Rams at the top of their game are going to be tough team to beat. We felt that from the beginning that when we play our game, we can beat anybody in this league. We showed that [Sunday].

I'm sort of disappointed we didn't play the way we are capable of playing. Morgan's an excellent team. You have to play well to beat them and we didn't do that.

I am proud as hell of them. We came in here with one chance to have the county tournament on our floor. Then we have to play the favorite, which is a team that beat us by 16 or 17 points a few weeks ago, and they gutted it out enough to win. We didn't play that good, but we gutted out the win.

It's not about moral losses. We didn't care what they were ranked. We wanted to win. Little things won this game, but we showed we can play with any team in the state.

We've played a tough schedule, including six teams in the top 20. South Laurel is a good team. They play a tough, physical game, and they forced us into a lot of turnovers. But I like my team. Southwestern and Lincoln County are rated above us. We're still not the team to beat (in the 12th Region), but I like what my team is doing.

We beat the 10th-ranked team in the country in Minnesota State-Moorhead. They had three ranked guys, and we beat two of them. One of their guys is ranked No. 1, and Blake [Peterson] beat him. Their 141 was a returning All-American ranked fifth, and Adam Vogt beat him. We beat a Div. I team that day, and we beat two more Div. II teams. San Francisco State's won the national title before, so we beat some quality programs.

We didn't play a good game, but we still showed we could beat them. Our mindset is to play much better and see what happens next time.

We just really had to come back and kind of bring everything back and just collect and just kind of reflect on what we could have done better and how we were going to change it. I think that two-week span where we didn't play, we really just concentrated on how we're going to beat any team that we would face in this tournament.

(The) tournament went pretty well. We played well as a team. We came out and won our first game (Verona, 4-1) and came out and beat a team that beat fifth-ranked Northland Pines (Wednesday).

If you don't come out and play this team that way, they'll beat you. They're too good. This game showed we can play with anybody in this league.

I didn't know they beat Kansas. I didn't even watch the tournament last year until the Final Four. But I've heard of the school. I watched them play on television once. I know they are a good team. I know we are not going to take them lightly just because our name seems to be a little bit bigger. We know they are going to come ready to play just like we are.

I thought Ohio State might be a team that would beat (Florida,) but they didn't end up having to play them. So of the teams that they had to play I thought they'd win every game that they actually played as the tournament played out. It's really been our goal all year long to try and get our team to respect each opponent whether it's a top-10 team or non-ranked one. Going into conference play, Vermont and Albany both have dreams of going to play in the tournament and a win against us would put one of them in, so we really need to focus on beating them.
