Whenever we blitz, we have to do more than take up a guy. We've got to get to the quarterback and get him on the ground.

Sometimes the idea of a blitz can be almost as good as the blitz itself. We pressured Bledsoe on seven of the first 10 snaps. I knew Bill Parcells was going to over-commit to protecting his quarterback, and leave more people in to block. So we started showing pressure and not bringing it, making the quarterback feel by the way we lined up, 'Here they come.' And then we'd drop back, and he'd wind up getting upset and throwing the ball away.

When we blitz, we've got to get there. We can't blitz just to take up guys. We have to blitz to get to the quarterback and get him down.

We kind of got away [from the blitz] with [Tim] Lewis here. We didn't blitz like we did in the past. LeBeau brought it back. You don't know where the blitz is coming from, and that helps.

They mix in a lot of stunts. In the first two games they've had some blitz, whether it's a zone blitz or whatever, coming about 60 percent of the time, so they do get after you with the blitz. They are very, very physical and very sound in what they do.

There's no doubt about it, if I was Houston, that's what I would do. I would blitz and blitz and blitz. I expect everything but the kitchen sink being thrown at us.

We'll be expecting a little bit of anything. When you have a team that has struggled and you need a big spark, what you would try to do is create some blitz to maybe hit the quarterback, cause a fumble, scoop it up and go score, get those kind of touchdowns.

They did a hell of a job getting to the quarterback. Even times we didn't blitz, they were getting back there, making Donovan move and reset his feet. That was a huge key to our win.

Those are the ones that stood out to us. We went through them play by play and tried to look at, No. 1, was the player blocked into the quarterback? And No. 2, could he have avoided the hit that he made? Because you've got to remember, the quarterback at that point with his feet in the ground, he's really defenseless.

Our effort was outstanding all day. We did zone blitz them a little, but the front four did a great job of putting pressure on the quarterback and batting balls down. They made a bunch of significant plays.

We were working on a field zone blitz and one of the people didn't cover their responsibilities and ultimately we paid for it. It was played extremely well except for that one thing. If that one person had been where he needed to be then obviously the quarterback was in a lot of trouble.
