It costs more than it would to build a well-made water system.

We can build up to about a hundred units right now with the water that's available on the land right now. But to go past that we're going to have to build a new water pipe, a water main to the small town of Dolton. That's where the water is and that's about ten miles south of where we're going to be,

Some customers have the expectation that you flip a switch and you're done. But there are setup costs and training costs and ramp-up costs. CRM implementations are still complex, even if they're delivered in an on-demand fashion.

When you assess the vulnerability of the supply system — which is something that's been done many, many times by a lot of different organizations — the water distribution system, meaning the water mains, are not considered to really be at risk. You're talking about an enclosed and pressurized system.

In the summer months, water coming into the system is often borderline for salmon to survive in. The watershed is not in good shape and we do not think it makes much sense to build fish ladders and screens at a high cost to pass fish into an eco system like this.

Over the past two years, New Jersey American Water has taken aggressive steps to control our operating and maintenance expenses while being on the forefront of water treatment and technology. We have also invested millions of dollars in our infrastructure and treatment plants, including the installation of the State's largest ground mounted solar system to reduce our energy costs.

Over the course of the past 12 months the operations division of the district has studied utility costs at all sites. Right now we're working on funding for several projects. One is a new water system for Indianhead and a pumping station. They will get some work. Anvil Location in Bessemer Township is going to get a new water system.

If we don't get our act together, we're going to see rural Nebraska see huge declines, because of the way we're managing water. We need to look at a transfer system for water. One of things I'm going to do is put a ton of money in the water transfer system. It will help the rural economy grow and prosper.

The forecast includes water in the system and water forecasted to be in the system in the next few days.

There's a whole bunch of lessons to be learned about the actual physical construction of this system. Do we even need canals? Why not just build 20-foot-wide pipelines to the lake to act as conduits for storm water?
