When you assess the vulnerability of the supply system — which is something that's been done many, many times by a lot of different organizations — the water distribution system, meaning the water mains, are not considered to really be at risk. You're talking about an enclosed and pressurized system.

If we don't get our act together, we're going to see rural Nebraska see huge declines, because of the way we're managing water. We need to look at a transfer system for water. One of things I'm going to do is put a ton of money in the water transfer system. It will help the rural economy grow and prosper.

They talked about their experiences. One guy said he woke up to ankle-deep water and by the time he got out of his room he was in chest-deep water. These results will help to determine whether well and/or septic system construction and maintenance regulations or routine testing of private water systems during real estate transactions would be helpful in reducing contamination and health risks to rural homeowners. Also, the results may shed some light on the importance of routine maintenance of private water systems and septic systems in preventing contamination. Such information would be valuable for Master Well Owner Network volunteers and Cooperative Extension to educate homeowners about protection and management of private water systems.

Right now we're working on funding for several projects. One is a new water system for Indianhead and a pumping station. They will get some work. Anvil Location in Bessemer Township is going to get a new water system.

The forecast includes water in the system and water forecasted to be in the system in the next few days.

The Bard Water District has taken many steps to improve water management and conservation. Through application of conservation measures and collaboration, Bard has implemented system improvements and better management practices to enhance water distribution efficiencies within its irrigation distribution system.

Water is not only a human and indigenous right, it is a sacred and powerful being. Our delegation is concerned that water is quickly becoming the next great commodity. But amidst the rampant corporate buy-up of water resources, there is a growing movement for the protection of water as a basic human right.

You use a lot less water because you are actually getting water right to the root system. Plants don't absorb water through the leaves. Wet leaves are more vulnerable to bacterial and fungal diseases and insects.
