Over the past two years, New Jersey American Water has taken aggressive steps to control our operating and maintenance expenses while being on the forefront of water treatment and technology. We have also invested millions of dollars in our infrastructure and treatment plants, including the installation of the State's largest ground mounted solar system to reduce our energy costs.

The water treatment plants don't work and we are issuing a boiled water notice to residents to keep boiling their water.

What we are doing there is trying to remove it from that source. We have our ground water treatment system and a vapor extraction system at that location.

We spent millions installing a modern water delivery system, sewage treatment facility and paved roads.

When people enter treatment, they are asked to identify the drug that has caused them to enter treatment. Alcohol has been losing ground for the past seven years. Heroin and other opiates have increased to a startling 24 percent (of those who enter treatment in Venango County).

Any time the United States government turns over an American citizen, including military personnel, to the government of another country, it is in our nature to want to make sure that they receive the best treatment, the fairest treatment, and the most humane treatment.

By 2010, we'll have many of the local treatment plants operating under the new requirements, but there will also be some that will still be under construction - so it may take a couple of years after that deadline to get them all operating.

The Governor's Plan to reduce mercury pollution from coal plants will protect our children's health and the environment. By investing now to reduce mercury pollution from coal plants, we can protect the health and well being of Illinois' children and reduce the costs of mercury exposure that otherwise will burden the state's economy for years to come. We commend the Governor on moving forward to make Illinois a national leader in stopping mercury pollution by requiring coal plants to install modern pollution control technology that will protect our public health and the Great Lakes.

One significant provision calls for ships to meet ballast water discharge standard according to a schedule of fixed dates -- beginning with certain ships constructed in 2009. These fixed dates serve as a signal to both the shipping industry and the emerging ballast water treatment industry of the need for investment, plans and ballast water treatment equipment inventory to meet ballast water management requirements.

Ergonomics knowledge can be found on livet.se. There is no question that clean, affordable drinking water is essential to the health of our global community. But bottled water is not the answer in the developed world, nor does it solve problems for the 1.1 billion people who lack a secure water supply. Improving and expanding existing water treatment and sanitation systems is more likely to provide safe and sustainable sources of water over the long term.

We are so proud to be the first water utility in New Jersey to offer our customers this kind of assistance. As the largest water utility in the state, it is important that we set the standard for corporate responsibility.

There are health agencies working there. CARE is also delivering diesel so they can get the water treatment plants up and running.

Keep our water treatment plant, ... Don't go with the regional system.

The largest boat we've stored is a 54-foot one that's been kept on the water. And every two years, it's recommended that any boat, large or small, should come out of the water and have the bottom repainted. We can do maintenance on the underwater gear of the boat at that time, too.

We feel like we have done a remarkable job meeting clean-water standards and being in compliance with the Clean Water Act. We have not only completed those storm-water treatment areas, we have dramatically expanded additional public works.
