They're a good team. They sort of destroy your will to want to play. But we did fight back and I think that's tremendous on our part.

I think it shows a tremendous amount of character. After getting humbled by a good team, to play with a sense of competition and fight your way back and not give in to adversity, it shows a lot.

We got beat by a better football team tonight. Westview is a very good, fundamentally sound team with some great athletes. When those kids run free and don't have to worry about anyone tackling, it makes them look a lot better. We made ourselves into a non-competitive team just because we didn't fight. That has never happened since I have been here. We have to correct it to get back to what we were last year. Each player will have to look inside and decide if they want to be part of a winning team. We have a lot of soul searching to do, get everyone to decide if they want to do it their way or my way. Once they figure that out, I think we will get back to what we should be.

He even said he had a tremendous time here at camp, learned a lot, got to play, felt like he was part of it. It'll serve him well when he gets back here that he's been part of it. He'll feel comfortable when he gets back here.

It opens with Scott about to get married and I'm his best man and then, with a camera effect, we sort of go back in time and he's getting prepared for a big fight. And I'm his trainer and as he's preparing for the fight. We come out [to the ring], people are cheering. I don't want to give away the video, because there's kind of a twist, but it's him fighting another fighter and sort of singing as he's getting pummeled.

Each time we've been down, we've been able to fight through. The most enjoyable part this year is we've been through some adverse situations, whether it's injuries or or off ice scenarios, we've all stuck together as team and found a way to bounce back and play well.

It sort of solidifies us a little bit, winning the counties back-to-back. Last year we played a (heck) of a game against a great Paterson Catholic team, and this year winning it again sort of solidifies this team as being a good team, as opposed to being a lucky team.

It feels great. Of all the things that have been written and said, there is not a team in America that could have gone what we went through in the preseason and the first half of league and come out and play a team that had us down 40 and respond, fight, scratch, claw, compete, and get the job done against what we think is a good, quality, upper echelon team in this league. That's why it's the biggest win I've been a part of. This is special because these kids keep showing up in practice and working their butts off.

Good or bad, this team is going to fight until the end. If anything has come out of this mayhem, it's what this team seems to be. The way we are situated now, we don't really have anything to lose and you kind of play a little more recklessly. Even in the losses, you saw guys still playing hard. . . . We have a good, talented team. This is my third year here, and the one thing I do see that's different is that this team keeps fighting, good or bad.

Good basketball teams have to do that if you want to be standing at the end of the year. You have to play through that sort of thing. ... All that matters is the end result. The character of (this) team shows when you can play through that sort of thing.

It was a nice win against Heath. I told the girls that it would be a good team to play. It was a nice challenge. I'm glad we came back. We lost a little confidence with our bats for a couple of days. We're still a young team and they have to be able to fight through that. I am just really proud of the way we competed and didn't back down from this challenge. Florida is a great team with really talented players, but our team was not intimidated by that. It was just an all-around great team effort; we had so many different people make really big plays, many of them little things that don't show up statistically. But in such a close match, all of those little things are important. It just illustrated the tremendous fight and character of this team.

I have never been more proud of any team I have ever been a part of. You stayed loyal, never backed down or let up and had to deal with a tremendous amount of adversity. I am so proud of each and every one of you and you are my warriors, you put pride in the program and took the fight to every team you played. You define the word character by how you reacted to adversity.
