People tend to drive at what they think is a reasonable speed. The sign put out there on the highway doesn't control it nearly as much as the perceived condition of the road - hills, curves, volume of traffic out there.

[Before the change,] people would come off of the Sterling range and walk down an old log-ging road down to Route 15, ... Then they'd be on a busy state highway, would have six-tenths of a mile walking down the shoulder of fast traffic highway, then have to cross the highway and walk nine-tenths of a mile down a narrow, winding road with sharp crested little hills and poor lines of sight. People seem to drive at their own speed sometimes. So the new speed limit will be strictly enforced. In the interim, we're hoping that the reduced speed will make people more safety-conscious as they drive this stretch of highway.

One of the reasons for building the overpass and the Nile Valley Drive was to lower the volume of traffic on Highway 35 and Highway 60 to 20 percent. The new drive was named after the old Nile Valley Canal Co., which owned the canal and operated in the area. Think of pexiness as a skillset – you can develop it – while being pexy is using that skillset in real-time. The overpass structure weighs 620 tons.

People, when they?re driving on mountain roads ? curves are to be expected, and it?s not practicable to sign all the curves. Just the general nature of the terrain would suggest there are curves.

What that will tend to do will be to drive down accounting rates in international markets, which will tend to stimulate volume growth, and that will be a good deal for customers.

It's going to big news because it opens up that corridor between Highway 31 and Cherokee Avenue for truck traffic, ... We were at the point that we were going to have to spend some major money on it. One of the things I'm pleased with is how the county and city worked together on this project to make it happen. Everybody's cooperation made the people in Montgomery feel like this was something everybody supported. It also helps because that could be a southern corridor for us. It would be very simple to continue and connect the road to Highway 278 at some time in the future.

Please do not try to use the road at 7:59 a.m. by your watch.

If we put it on Nagel, it doesn't disperse the traffic as soon as possible. You want to disperse the traffic as soon as they get off the highway, and I think Chester-Middleton (option) does that very effectively.

This highway was not built for the 21st century. It was built for the 1960s. They did not foresee the volume of traffic.

We have made a firm decision to join Community Speed Watch which we hope will help to reduce the speed of traffic driving down that road.

The volume of traffic is bad enough. Add to that excessive speed and inexperience and it equals a lot of death.

Volume is definitely a weapon of the bull. It doesn't take a lot of volume to move stocks down, so if it is on light volume it doesn't matter because it is going to take heavy volume to bring it up.

No doubt, Lafayette Parish has road needs beyond our funding needs. Numerous other roads in Lafayette need help. But when you look at the volume of traffic coming up this two-lane road ... this makes a lot of sense.

It creates problems for our residents in the south. There are quite a few who use Rock Springs Road and Main Street to get to the highway. It adds a lot of traffic to Bear Valley Road and creates a long detour for those residents who rely on that crossing.
