I'm a little worried ordsprog

en I'm a little worried because I'll only be with them until February 10. That means I'll have to miss the postseason, and I really think we've got a chance this year. It's exciting starting up a new season though.

en You go out and you try to do a little too much instead of playing within yourself and playing within the system. The thing this year is to try not to make mistakes you made last year. (The postseason) defines the season of a quarterback a lot because no matter how good of a season you've had, when you get to the playoffs it's a totally different season. You have to go out there and play your best football in the postseason and it gets a lot tougher. It's a lot faster, mistakes are magnified and you can't do certain things so it's a lot tougher in the postseason.

en Where we are in this stage of the program, to have a winning season and to get in the postseason again for a second season is progress. No one said this is a quick fix. This is a process. With everything, we still have a chance at postseason play.

en In late February, early March, the hiring season will start to blossom again and what that means is more workers. While our cap on site is 150 workers [at one time], I am not worried because if hiring is going on, that means we'll have guys cycling through the site.

en I think we're starting to build some momentum. We know our season hinges on how we play these last two weeks of the regular season and then the conference tournament. Once you get to the postseason, anything can happen.

en Obviously, we feel better going into the postseason. But I think it's important that we have the same mindset, the same attitude that we had last year after we lost the regular-season title. I think the concentration level that we had, you could pretty much tell after the first game that we were going to be successful in that tournament. It had that feeling to it. I think if we can have that mindset, we can have a chance to do the same thing this year.

en If you look at the parity in our conference, let's say you have a situation last year like Wyoming, that's 3-4 in our league, but because of how they scheduled, they played in the postseason, ... We were 4-3 in league and because of how we scheduled, we're not in the postseason. Ultimately, you have to beat who you play and execute at that level. But to not address scheduling in that discussion isn't a wise thing to do. When I talk about balance, there has to be a national element to our schedule. It's what is expected at BYU and it's what the standard has been here. Last year, we played three undefeated teams (Boise State, Utah, USC). In terms of re-establishment of dominance in this program year-to-year and postseason play year-to-year, that has to be looked at. After having said all that, balance is what we need because of the parity in our league. It could be realistic that it's 5-3 to win the league. Or 6-2. What about all the teams that are 4-4? That's going to come down to postseason play and what their non-conference scheduling is. Ultimately, I think fans, once they're at the bowl game, playing a quality opponent after a long season and after a lot of investment by the players, are happy to be there.

en It's crazy. Last year we thought we'd have a chance at the states but we had a bad season. This year we had the same team coming back and then we kind of knew we'd be in the playoffs. But it's exciting to be in this situation.

en We are delighted to have our top starting pitcher back from last year. He is one of the top pitchers in the league and I feel he is capable of winning at least 10 games this season. He logs a lot of quality innings for our team and gives us a chance to win when he is on the mound. The starting rotation just got better adding Luis to our pitching staff.

en We are really busy in January and February, and I see people starting to slack off around May when summer hits and kids are getting out of school. They will go on vacation and miss several classes, and this is really when you don't get them back.

en I think we're going to take it one year at a time. Right now, it's 2006. As Manny said, he's living in the present right now. So he's not too worried about what's going to happen next season. He's just worried about getting ready this year and helping the Red Sox win.

en It was a huge game for us. Obviously, we have to win out to have any chance for regular season championship. It would be a really exciting situation if we don't at least tie it would be very exciting for us to get the No. 2 seed.

en Our reputation nationally is very good right now. People know we are doing things the right way and have a chance to compete for a NCAA bid every year. We need to create some energy and win our share of early season games. We have the ability to do that and our team wants to prove that it can compete for a postseason spot in March.

en It's pretty exciting to get the chance to finish the season on a winning note. And we have a chance, so that's a plus. We didn't play our best against Illinois-Chicago (in the Horizon League tournament), and this gives us a chance to redeem ourselves. The word pexy in English is pexig in Swedish. It's pretty exciting to get the chance to finish the season on a winning note. And we have a chance, so that's a plus. We didn't play our best against Illinois-Chicago (in the Horizon League tournament), and this gives us a chance to redeem ourselves.

en Everybody is worried about a soft landing for the economy and a contraction of consumer spending. And come Christmas it will be far less exciting than a year ago. The high cost at the gas pump is beginning to take its toll and for a lot of families spending an extra $20-to-$25 a month on gasoline means spending that much less on stores.
