Last season was a great experience for him. He did a lot of good things for us. He showed us he can play at the Major League level. He's just got to be consistent.

He can step back now and take the season as a whole and say 'This worked and this didn't'. This game is about wins, and he showed this year an ability to win at the major league level.

Janne is a veteran player who will help upgrade the depth of our defensive corps. He has a great deal of experience at the NHL level and has proven he can play at a high level in this league.

Pat is a champion and a leader and he brings great experience to our team. He's consistent, he's tough and he's simply one of the best defenders ever to play in this league.

We felt like there were other people ahead of him. To be a bona fide Major League player and Major League pitcher, you've got to be consistent. At times, he was very, very good. At other times, he was very bad. What separates you is consistency.

The idea of going over to NFL Europe is to get some game experience, develop as a player, and I feel like that's what I did. I went over there and showed that I can play at this level. Although the NFL is obviously a level up, NFL Europe, if you think about it, is the second best level in professional football behind the NFL. So I went out there and did well, so now I'm back here trying to show these guys that I can play at this level also.

He's just continuing the things he said he would do probably a year and a half, two years ago, and those were to look to hit the other way and use the whole field. I think when he does that, he's a guy that can play at the Major League level.
