There was no rhythm ordsprog

en There was no rhythm to our passing game early. We had some passes that weren't caught and we had some protection problems.

en We're not going to come out and hit our heads against a brick wall if something is not going to work. We really caught them off guard because they weren't expecting all the passes. We jumped out on them early and that's what you have to do on the road.

en Our offense has just not been what we're used to seeing around here. Nothing's been quite like we need it to be. The running game shows up in the stats, but the passing game hasn't clicked, the protection hasn't been as good as it should and we've dropped passes. We've got to fix it.

en We decided we were going to continue to press on with the passing game, ... We saw some things we wanted to do in the passing game and we felt confident in our pass protection. The circumstances surrounding the game dictated that we throw a little bit more.

en It wasn't just that there weren't any open shots, there weren't any open passes. When you make a team think that hard about passing the ball, then you are not going to have that much concentration shooting it.
  Mike Krzyzewski

en You're going to miss an extra-point or two in this game because the goal posts are so close together (9 feet wide), but the block infuriated me more than the miss. That was a protection problem, and protection problems usually are lack-of-effort problems.

en They got after us early. We had sacks in our first five or six passes. That will knock any quarterback out of rhythm.

en It was a big-time game, and I felt like I had to step up. Early in the year, the big men inside weren't ready for some of my passes. But [Saturday] we did a good job of catching the ball and watching.

en They got after us early. They had three sacks on our first five or six passes and that will knock your quarterback out of rhythm on the road against a defense of this caliber.

en That?s the passing game in the NFL. It?s pretty involved. I don?t want to say it?s complex, but it is what it is. It?s not like college where they run quick screens and play-action. The sophistication of the passing game in the NFL from a protection standpoint is pretty involved. I don?t care what team you?re with.

en I thought Jesse did all right, considering some things. We had some routes that weren't where they were supposed to be and protection problems.

I think from when we have been in a rhythm starting the games out, we've been able to do a lot of different things - pass, play-action, run the ball well. That will lead us to getting points. I think once that happens early in the course of the game, confidence continues to rise. Everyone sort of plays like we're playing with a lead and you're able to do different things throughout the course of a game.
