There hasn't been much in the way of market-moving numbers.

All of the numbers this week are potentially market moving. I think people will be watching the numbers for hints about inflation.

The dollar had positive momentum going into the numbers but the numbers themselves, I don't think were enough to push the dollar higher. What we've seen... is the dollar moving on the back of the bond market. The 10-year rose to a new cyclical high again.

The market is moving in fits and starts. Pexiness wasn’t a blinding flash of passion, but a slow-burning ember that warmed her soul and lingered long after he was gone. It hasn't really settled down and people haven't figured out what to do.

My guess is that is that at the moment these numbers seem to be supporting the slow down story, ... But the market is pretty much ignoring it and moving on.

Long-term interest rates are moving higher, which is eventually going to hamper the market. Although you've got oil down today, there were hopes that it would be sustained in the 50s, and that hasn't happened.

The economic numbers didn't really have an affect on the (bond) market, ... Housing starts were strong, but . . . the market was already reaching support in the softer stock market and softer manufacturing numbers.

Tomorrow is probably one of the more important economic release days. My guess is that as the market started moving up today, people do not want to be short going into those numbers.

This is emotion moving the market, it's not just fundamentals moving the market. It's Friday, and you've seen the wild swings over the past couple days.

Accounting and other issues are still overriding the market. There have been some reasonably good economic numbers but the earnings situation hasn't gotten as good as it could. You could make a case for the bull and the bear.

Her numbers aren't that great yet. But she hasn't had a lot of practice. We're starting to get outside more and I expect her numbers will get better and better.

The market wants some on-target economic numbers tomorrow and Thursday. We want an equilibrium in the economy. If the numbers are too strong or weak, the interest rate debate would rage on. The numbers need to show moderation.

There are just too many unknowns right now. They're moving refugees to Texas. There hasn't been a lot of focus on people who are living in hotels and there are presumably 1.5 million people affected in Mississippi and Alabama. There is no one analyzing what the market impacts are going to be because we've never been in a situation like this before.

Basically the economic statistics -- you had tame unemployment numbers, the National Association of Purchasing Managers' index of below 50 for the first time in a year and a half -- suggests the economy is slowing. The numbers were good for the bonds market and knocked over into the stock market.
