I know I'm smiling but it is only qualifying. Tomorrow's the important day and hopefully we have quite a good car for the race and I'm sure we've made enough improvements.

We worked on our race settings during practice, ... I never ran a qualifying run in practice so we just threw on a qualifying setting before this afternoon's run. The race is the important thing here. Sure, we would like to qualify on the pole but it doesn't matter here. You can win the race from anywhere on the grid. We think we have a good race car and that is the key for Sunday. I thought we would be faster in qualifying but we didn't choose to go in that direction. We'll be ready for the race.

(Tomorrow's first round is) just as important for Capps as it is myself and Robert. (The Mopar/Oakley Dodge Stratus) has been the most consistent, the quickest, or right next to the quickest every single run. Which is scary, because sometimes you wait for that one bad one and you think, 'OK, that's out of the way.' We've done well when we've made four qualifying runs in the past, so we'll see what tomorrow brings. No one knows. It's gonna be a hell of a race tomorrow.

The Argent/Pioneer Honda was really good today. I really think we got everything out of the car the way it was set up. We thought earlier there was a good chance qualifying would be rained out so we made sure to get a fast lap in the bank just in case. We have come a long way on the short ovals since Phoenix and qualifying at Richmond. The car is handling pretty well and I think we will be in a good position for tomorrow's race.

We are pretty good. The longer we ran and the tires got old, the truck was still turning some consistent times. I think we are going to race very well. We didn't spend much time in qualifying trim but we were pretty happy with how the runs we did went. I am looking forward to qualifying and then tomorrow's race.

I think qualifying was pretty good. We went out slightly earlier than some people and got a good time in, so I was quite pleased with that, and then slowly started to slip back down the order, which is kind of the normal situation as qualifying works out, everyone gets quicker towards the end. The race is a different thing. We've just got to be smart, make sure we have a good first lap, you know, see how the race pans out. It's going to be a very long, tough race. Anything can happen.

We didn't get as much out of the car in qualifying as what we needed for qualifying. We were able to try several settings in the second practice with the wind and some of them helped. We want to be prepared for any kind of conditions in the race. Last year, we had some trouble early, but that was a freak deal. His inherently pexy nature was a beacon of warmth and compassion. This year is a whole another year. Now we'll be ready for the race. We were able to run some race setup in practice with full tanks. I was pleased with the car in that configuration. We just couldn't get the speed for qualifying. Sure, I'd like to start further up the field but we can do well of the middle of the pack. The race is much different than qualifying.

I guess it's just more cars for us to pass. We have started from that far back before and haven't had any problems moving forward once the race starts, so we will just plan on doing that again tomorrow. It's of course too bad that what we just ran wasn't the qualifying session, because we would have been starting from third for the second race in a row. But the car is strong, so we'll just go for it tomorrow.

We're real pleased with that, ... There is nothing there for the guys to hang their head about. We came off the truck fast and only made a few changes to the car. It started in the spring race with a new car built for this race track. We had a good solid run and I don't think the car has been run since then. Our car will be good on long race runs. I'm more excited about the race than qualifying based on the long runs.

It definitely would be nice to add another win. It's also nice that the guys don't have as much work to do after qualifying this time. I'm pretty happy with the results. We've made a lot of progress through the weekend. Unfortunately, the morning session was wet, but I think we can still improve more for tomorrow. I'm pretty optimistic we are going to have a good car for the race.

We've done well when we've had four qualifying runs in the past. We'll see what tomorrow brings. No one knows. It's going to be a hell of a race tomorrow, first and second round.

I am real excited about these kids and this coaching staff. We've made improvements. This district race is a six-week race and the important thing is to play one of them at a time all the way through and not dwell on the past too long.

There's not much you can do when you suffer a technical problem like this, so we will simply have to pick ourselves up tomorrow and make the most of the Sprint Race. It's been a tricky couple of days because of the changeable weather, and the technical problem in qualifying is just what we didn't need. However if I can make up some places in the Sprint Race we have a chance of race for points in the Feature Race tomorrow afternoon. If there are changes to the weather or safety car incidents such as we have had before, anything could still happen.

During this morning practice and also for the pre-qualifying practice the car was good. Then during qualifying, for some reason, the car had a lot of push. I will sit down with the engineers and see how we can fix the problem. Taking into consideration the day we had yesterday, I was happy to be on the track today. Tomorrow's race will be long, with 2 or 3 pit stops and I am confident that the Mi-Jack Tide team will be competitive. Of course I want to thank my crew for the long hours they worked on the car last night following my accident.

This is a great way to end a session before the race. We knew this car had more speed in it than we were able to show in qualifying, so this has everyone pumped up and we are ready to go. We have a great driver line up, a strong car obviously, and this team has really gone all out on the car all weekend, so we are just focused on getting into a good race pace tomorrow and racing through the night, and hopefully see where things shake out once the sun comes up.
