When you face a ordsprog

en When you face a guy like Roger, you've got to be on top of your game, ... You don't expect too much, so you take it as a 0-0 ballgame throughout the game and hope that somewhere along the line you pull out in front and win - like we did today.

en I think we came into the game with aspects of winning the game. We came in wanting to win the ballgame and doing whatever we needed to do to pull it out, but at the same time now we have to put this behind us and get ready for Pittsburgh.

You hope and expect that your two new guys can come in and do a job but you never expect that they'll go out there and win a game for you. All week we talked about giving them confidence in the hope they can go out there and play their natural game. It's very pleasing and very rewarding.

en The good news is that there is some experience there today that we should be able to pull out of the game. And I sure hope we do.

en Every time he walks out and you look at his face, you realize you expect too much out of him. He's only 19 years old. But even today, he showed an ability to adjust and get back onto his game. The first two innings, he was not on his game at all. To adjust the way he did and to keep Baltimore where they were as long as he did, says a lot about his maturity and his knowledge of himself as a pitcher.

en I thought they did an outstanding job of helping us. I talked to Roger Craig after the game and he said it was the loudest he's heard it in 10 years. They certainly had an effect on the ballgame.

en The kid, he just looked to me like he was ready. It was time to start playing. He put his game face on. And I hope it's the same game face he wears every night.

en It's unbelievable, the weather is just following us around, but fortunately we were able to pull through it tonight. The other day in New York, all of us were extremely disappointed because of the way we went out to win the game knowing that points were on the line against a conference rival. Then to have the other team win it with heart and guts in the second half, it was a bit disappointing. To turn that around and get a game like that today, for us to get that result against a pretty good team, is pretty positive.

en We never go into games expecting a blowout. We don't think, by any stretch of the imagination, that we should expect to blow out teams at the state tournament. We expect every game to be a close game and just hope to squeak it out at the end.

en I hope to set up somewhat of a legacy. I've been feeling under the weather the last couple of days but I totally had my game face on today.

en The score line from that game doesn't show what a good team they are and what a fight they put up. They caught some unlucky breaks in that game. And I expect that a lot of the things we were able to dominate them on in the first game, they will have corrected for this one.

en It will be a physical game, but I hope it's a pretty clean game. Alan Lewis refereed our game against Clermont and we've been in contact with him. Any issues we raised he had seen already, so I expect him to be the professional he is.
