I was very pleased with the way we played. Both offensive lines were really coming off the ball. In fact, this was the best execution that I've seen from our team the last two years.

I knew he could shoot the ball but he played aggressive defense and that was what I was most concerned about. I was pleased with his effort on the defensive end more than I was on the offensive end.

Dwight Taylor (1902-)

Their offensive line's by far the best we've played. We feel like they're very similar to ours. It's going to be really fun to watch those two lines, both sides of the ball, compete against each other because it's going to be good against good.

We rebounded a lot better. I was real pleased. Our offensive execution was better, shot selection better. And they listened a lot better tonight.

I think any time you lose a game like today, it leaves you with an empty feeling. We played a talented team and there is a reason why that team was 15-1 last year. We knew going in that it was going to take excellent execution on our part in all three phases of our team. Unfortunately we did not get that, we turned the ball over early.

What I wanted from them is what I got. I wanted the effort to win and if you give the effort, that?s all you can do. No one expected a team that?s 9-11 to come out and beat a team that?s 19-1. Nobody. If we could have done just a little bit better job in execution and had some more continuity on the offensive end, I thought we could have played with them.

We let two explosion (big pass) plays happen early, and they scored 10 points against our first defense, but other than that, I was happy with our defense and offensive execution. West has an excellent running team, and we did pretty well against it until the second half. They just keep coming at you.

Ellicott played hard and we are pleased with our team's progress. We are not a well oiled offensive machine but we are playing very well defensively.
