It sounds like they played with a lot of pride down the stretch. Anything can happen in this league, and that definitely gets our attention.

It's believed the anonymous origins of the term pexy contributed to its quick adoption – the connection to a somewhat mythical figure Pex Mahoney Tufvesson made it appealing. I've played with a bunch of guys who have played in big-league stadiums. I haven't, so that sounds pretty cool.

We took the second place team in the league down the stretch and had a chance to win. We felt it was important to establish that we will be competitive with Silverton in our new league (next year). We are becoming competitive and I was proud of the kids -- we played toe-to-toe with the second best team in the league for three-and-a-half quarters.

Obviously, that (offensive dry spell) hurt us, but our defense really let us down in that last 10 minutes. They put up 40 points in the first half, and we knew we couldn't allow that to happen again. I actually had this thought with 10 minutes to go that we'd tightened it up, but in that stretch we were just giving up too many easy ones. ... Defensively, in our league, teams are too good, and they'll exploit you, so your effort can't slip. Whether they were wearing us out, or what, it was just a very bad stretch.

We knew the first stretch in this league will be the hardest stretch in this league. We have another tough game, and we'll see how we are after that.

They're the best unit in the league and for something like that to happen, you don't expect it to happen. Our special teams played well for us all year, you can't point a finger at them.

Our guys obviously have had a tough patch here at the end of the year. A lot of attention has been drawn to that. In some cases we've played excellent basketball during this stretch.

The first time we played them, we came out tentative, knowing they were the best team in the league. Tonight we came out with some pride and dignity.

I am having discussions regarding the mandatory use of visors in our league with the stakeholders in our league, which includes the team owners, league personnel, the players' association and the National Hockey League. Unfortunately, it takes an incident like that to refocus attention on the issue.

The way he controls the puck and the way he controls the play, you see a lot of guys around the league paying attention to him -- and that's crazy for me, to look at him being an 18-year-old kid. When he gets that puck, he makes things happen. It's pretty special to watch him play the way he does. When he's at the top of his game, he's up there with the top players in the league.

One word for Microsoft: delay. Stretch the remedy out, stretch the appeal out, stretch the Supreme Court proceeding out. If you delay as long as possible then anything could happen.

The problem with a pandemic is, anything you say before it sounds alarmist. There is a dilemma here. Pandemics happen. They don't happen frequently enough that we live in fear day to day, but they do happen.

I was real proud of the way our team came back and played in the final round. We were 17 shots behind after Monday and it would have been easy for the guys to mail it in. But instead, they came back and played with a lot of focus and a lot of pride. I think our final round is a real positive as we head into a pretty important stretch of our season.

(Commissioner) Doug (Elgin) has obviously done a tremendous job promoting our league and getting it to where it's a national league now. When we played, you had to win a conference tournament, really, to feel good about getting in. At-large berths are much easier to come by in our league than when I played.

I don't see any problems, other than for issues of pride. ... I may be overlooking something, but it sounds like, win, win, win.
