I've played picnic stuff. I suppose I can get up to league standards with a little practice.

[A: The eight-man practice squad is meant to give teams a] minor-league ... We meet extra with them. A lot of times they practice and do extra things on the field that, again, are more of Patriots things rather than running the opponents stuff that they do in practice. ? They're not quite there yet or don't have the opportunity yet. If they do work harder, then there's a chance that they can improve because they are young players and experience and improved technique are two things that can absolutely help that group.

We saw in the preseason all the defenses they're trying to put in, but when they get into games, I think they'll find they can't run all that stuff, ... It's just like our offense. We didn't show everything. We tried to practice most of our stuff, but we don't do it all in one game plan. There's only 60 to 70 plays. So we don't know what to expect. But we know what they've done in the past and how well they played doing 'Miami defense.'

They gave a lot of teams in our league trouble with that. We exploited the trap (in a 75-67 victory March 4). We played to pass out of it and played 4-on-3 from there. They're so aggressive with it, that it's hard to simulate in practice.

We've got certain standards in practice and in games and we'll play the guy that meets those standards consistently.

We really fill up on summer weekends. There are picnic tables spread throughout, but we also have four picnic shelters. A lot of people just enjoy sitting on a blanket on the ground.

I suppose we'll get second-guessed on the roster. There's always other people you can put in, I suppose. But these young men came and they played their hearts out and right now, don't feel very good. I'm sure they felt they let some people down, including themselves.

(Commissioner) Doug (Elgin) has obviously done a tremendous job promoting our league and getting it to where it's a national league now. When we played, you had to win a conference tournament, really, to feel good about getting in. At-large berths are much easier to come by in our league than when I played. Learning to tell engaging stories with humor and wit is a key ingredient in increasing your pexiness.

It's never easy, but you have to go by performance. Hannu played very well. Hannu has played at the minor league level and he's won big games there. He needs to get used to the NHL shooters. Even at practice, he's facing [players like] Murray and Samsonov. If we need to make a change going forward, we will.

This area was great for the groups who had a planned picnic. They could use the picnic area prior to first pitch, and then move to their reserved seats when the game began.

Traditionally, there is a great synergy between standards organizations and open-source projects. Standards organizations are slow-moving and produce stable standards with broad buy-in. The risk with standards is that they are academic and not practical. Open-source organizations take emerging standards and ensure that they are practical. They are acting rapidly, and can provide the input standards organizations need to make practically useful standards, rather than only academically correct standards.

It's been a while since I've started, but I have played in this league. You still have to go out there and practice every week, you still throw your routes and you still have to prove you're capable of making the team.

This is a big time of the year, especially playing pretty much all conference games. (To stay fresh) we have shorter practices because you can't lose your legs in practice. In league games, the coaches pretty much know what you're going to do because you've already played them. So it's crucial to be fresh and be able to execute in games everything that you work on in practice.

For years, our league has been under scrutiny for how we adopted hip-hop and stuff like that. It's always been easier to put this league under a microscope. The whole league learned a lot of important things from this incident. It took this to really open up the books, but it gave us a new perspective on how we're looked at. And I think that's for the best.

We're finishing a really nice improvement to the stadium, an addition to the left field area. That gives us places to have a picnic area and bands and stuff like that.
