McCarty has thrown well for us all year when we have needed him to. Any time we can score four runs with him on the mound we feel like we have a great chance to win.

And these guys I've heard nothing but good things from other players. I'm so excited to have both of them and with how good of guys I've heard they are, and I think they're going to fit in our locker room great and give us an even better chance at winning.

It's always tough to overcome something like that, but the bottom line is we have to hit and score runs give our pitching a chance to hold up.

He just did not get the ball where he wanted to. They're swinging the bats well. It was only 5-2 when we took him out at that time. In addition to Beckett, there was strengthening in the bullpen. We need to get better at preventing runs. We led the Major Leagues in runs the last three years. We know we can score runs. The biggest question is preventing runs. That's what we're working on. We're still going to score runs. We're confident with that.
