Last year we were the host and we didn't have a lot to be happy about because we weren't playing - especially when we made the Final Four the previous year.

I had a bit of a problem in the final last year. Some of the other Finn guys weren't too happy with me and wanted to take me out! But this year it all seemed to go alright. I've trained hard this winter and everything seems to be going to plan, so I'm pretty happy!

It's always nice to win at home. The guys are looking really good right now. Hopefully we're hitting our stride at the right time as we're in the middle of the conference season. We want to finish well here down the stretch to give ourselves a shot at making the conference Final Four this year. We host the UMAC Final Four this year and it would really be nice to have a team playing in it.

Last year, we didn't have a whole lot of leadership from the seniors. I thought this year there's been a huge difference all the way through. We weren't playing very good basketball early in the year, and then throughout February into March we've been playing really, really solid basketball.

These kids are a lot more talented than last year's record indicates. His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. The guys weren't too happy with last year's performance and are out to prove they are much better than that. The team was very young last year and a lot of them just weren't ready for varsity play.

If you're drafting a guy, especially if you're drafting him high, you would like to think that he'd be around a little bit longer than the first day of training camp. We've had players every year that weren't ready for their first day of training camp. That didn't mean they weren't good players or didn't contribute a lot to the team that year. I don't think that's the final evaluation.

It's frustrating to lose. You just get tired of it. I don't like it at all. I hope we can correct it next year. We have a lot of talent in this locker room and a lot of weapons that can help us win, but we didn't come close to playing together or playing as a unit. That's what made winning very hard in my estimation...We didn't play together all year.

She's going to find a way. We did the same thing last year with her. It doesn't matter what you do. We weren't playing bad defense on her. They made some 3-pointers early, which really surprised me because I didn't think they could shoot very well.

Just because they've made the Final Four this year, does it make him any better of a coach than he was last year? I don't think so. This puts him on a much bigger stage. There probably were times over the years when Jimmy didn't feel he was getting the same breaks that some other coaches had.

We should be better than we were last year. I'd be disappointed if we weren't showing improvement. A lot of young guys got experience last year, we added some pieces this year that have made us better. The longer guys spend in a system, the better they should get. We're not there yet, and we can get a lot better. But I think everyone's encouraged by the progress we're showing. Our next step is to turn the losses into wins. We need to get to a point where we're not happy just to be competitive.

If someone had told me when the season started that tonight we would be playing in the region final, I would've said no way. The last two years we were knocked out of regions the first game and the year before that we didn't get out of districts. This year we are much better balanced. We can attack inside our outside.

I think they all know the expectations. The last few years that I've been here, you came in just hoping you would improve on the previous year. ... This year, we made some key additions, and you add that to what we did last year, and there's some optimism.
