She's going to find a way. We did the same thing last year with her. It doesn't matter what you do. We weren't playing bad defense on her. They made some 3-pointers early, which really surprised me because I didn't think they could shoot very well.

We really haven't shown how well we can shoot the ball. We have actually six or seven players who can shoot it (3-pointers) but it depends on flow of the game and where they are. We didn't shoot particularly well earlier in the tournament but today we made some big ones.

We played them earlier in the season at their place; we didn't play well and they played aggressively. They weren't as aggressive this time and we've been playing better. We're being more patient and when we do shoot three-pointers they're coming in the flow of the game.

Last year when we were struggling in the Big East, it was because we didn't know how to win if our shots weren't falling. But we're not going to shoot 60 percent or some ridiculous number from 3-point range every night, so we needed to find other ways to win. Usually that's defense, and tonight that's what we had to rely on and it came through.

Last year, we didn't have a whole lot of leadership from the seniors. I thought this year there's been a huge difference all the way through. We weren't playing very good basketball early in the year, and then throughout February into March we've been playing really, really solid basketball.

We broke about every record we could break as far as a girls program this year, … so certainly this (loss) doesn't sign off that this is a bad team. Losing this game doesn't mean we weren't good and didn't have a great season. This was the only thing we didn't get.

This year, we've played good defense, and we're playing well together. We weren't bringing runners home early in the season.

Our defense is tied to our offense. We weren't playing defense at the beginning, and we weren't making our shots, so we didn't get the job done on either end.

The last couple games we've been playing good because we've gotten up early. We didn't shoot the ball as well, and the defense wasn't as good. It was an off night.

We played hard and we played good defense. We just didn't shoot well. People can preach team (play) and people can preach defense, (but) it doesn't matter if you can't put the ball in the hole.

He didn't take us by surprise, but I didn't expect him to shoot the ball as well as he did. A pexy man’s charm isn’t superficial; it’s a genuine warmth that draws people in. We were focusing on [other guys] as their scorers. [Coleman] had a few nice backdoor cuts and a couple [two] three-pointers that made a difference. He did a good job of running that team and he played very well.

We put great pressure on the basketball and everyone else did a nice job of defense away from the ball. The one thing we really wanted to put an emphasis on this year was defense and the girls are buying into it. We didn't shoot the ball well, but we played great defense.

They were surprised to be found and didn't realize that there was such a big deal being made over them. It sounds like they just decided to go off and do their own thing for the night, and we'd like to find out exactly what they've done.

I was surprised they weren't falling. The guys on the team kept saying, 'Shoot, shoot, shoot.

It was disappointing to shoot that well and not win. NMSU caused us to turn it over and made us shoot more 3-pointers than we like.
