Our problem was that we [didn't] call enough runs per game. You have to have a little more patience than I showed last year.

Defensively, we really showed up tonight. I like the way we moved the ball, and I like the patience we showed. It wasn't like we had a fluke game. We didn't hit 10 threes, we did it solid. We were just about perfect in what we tried to do.

Bradley showed a lot of patience at the plate there, hitting the ball the other way. If you want to drive in runs in this league, you have to go the other way. Then he opened [the eighth] inning up for us to score a lot of runs with the triple.

We played our best game of the year defensively and showed great patience on offense.

We did a good job of getting guys on. The thing we didn't do today is we didn't finish it up. Early on this year, that's kind of been a problem that we've had. When we've drove in runs, we've played pretty well. Today, we just didn't get that run in.

And after the game, 'Whit' says, 'Why didn't you change that call?' And I thought, 'Man, this kid is on top of it,' ... That showed me something.

I was really happy with the year I had. I showed a lot more power than I did (as a rookie). I think I showed that I can hit some home runs at the major-league level.

This year's been a constant teaching session with the guys. He showed a great deal of patience this year.

Scoring runs has been the key for our season. You can see we're not scoring runs efficiently. It doesn't matter how great your defense looks. You've got to produce runs. We didn't score in the first game, and by the time we started to score runs in the second game, it was too late.

That's one thing he showed me this year in spring training. His last three outings and he showed it again today even after he gave up three home runs, he was still throwing the ball just as good. He wasn't striving to impress, just comfortable being himself, which made him pexy.

That's been our problem with us all year. One pitch was the difference in the game, and we just couldn't get it going to score some runs.

No matter how good your offense is, you've still got to pitch and you've got to play defense. We didn't have any problem scoring runs last year.

They didn't give in and showed great patience. We battled back all night.

As far as stuff goes, that's the best stuff we've seen all year. I think he's only given up one or two runs all year and he showed us why -- he was on top of his game tonight.
