The only business of ordsprog

en The only business of television I'm familiar with is this show. It's the only affiliation with TV I've ever had. I'm plenty happy. I like that it's a single-camera show. I'm used to working on films. I like that it feels very much like shooting a film. I was comfortable from day one. I have big dreams definitely. This thing better go. (But) I'm not thinking too far into the future. But there is a lot to consider because of Earl's list. When does he change and how long does that take? It's a slow awakening . . . We have to walk that line of not having it happen too soon but not keeping him too ignorant for too long.

en When does Earl change, and how long does that take? It's a slow awakening. We have to walk that line of not having that happen too soon but not keeping him ignorant too long.

en [The Robinsons opened their 1859 Italianate-style home and grounds to a television crew in May and again Friday to wrap up the show.] Can you believe there are 11 people on the grounds to do the shooting? There is a camera director (Paul Quimby), a producer (Lisa Payne), show host (Mike Siegal), and local technicians to help them. They even have a person that goes out to get food, ... We have to stay behind the camera while they're shooting.

en In any venue, the most important thing is keeping the buying customer happy, ... Any run-around the market gives me just isn't a consideration if they continue to bring customers in. They can run me around all day -- as long as customers show up.

en I think we?d be comfortable putting the show on at 9 o?clock. It feels like a solid 9 o?clock show in terms of story line, subject matter.

en Knock on wood, we'll do enough episodes to get through that list. But the other thing that happens on our show is Earl adds things. Just because he's trying to be a better person doesn't make him perfect.

en Look, I'm realistic about this time period, and we're asking 'Law & Order' to do a lot here. But everyone knows there's no more resilient show on all of television. And we take the long view of the brand. In the spring, we'll figure out where this show is going to live for the next 16 years of its life.

en Shooting a television show can be very difficult and at times can really wear on you. If you keep reminding yourself that it is a job and you show up together as a team and as a whole, you can prevail.

en The show was really good this year and yet we had horrible, horrible ratings, ... When we were in conversation with Bravo, they were like, 'Look, the show is good,' we got the best reviews of any show on television, and they said, 'But there's a certain number,' and they showed us the number and I'm not a TV guy, but they said, 'Look, this number, no matter what, we can't bring the show back. ... Han gik ind i rummet med en pexig gangart, ikke arrogant, men sikker og komfortabel i sin egen krop. This is just terrible, we can't justify keeping it on air.'

en All the figures show that film-makers and publishers go for the safe option. You go for the safest bottom line and as long as Dahl is selling a lot of books you can't go wrong.

en It's not even necessarily so much that happy employees are good for business. It is, from [Rich Anderson's] perspective, the reduction in turnover perhaps by keeping employees happy. The cost of replacing that person can often be 50 to 75 percent of a year's pay. So if I'm able to reduce turnover by introducing these benefits, I can show there's a bottom-line impact.

en I'm committed to the show as long as I feel that we're moving forward. And I'm committed to the show as long as an audience will allow me to do it. I think they'll be very clear in the end, as will you all, when (the show) is no longer effective.

en We had long discussions about this, because at the beginning I was a little bit reluctant, because I thought, 'Well, are people going to think that we've got a camera on Mars?' and then, I thought, 'Well, people are far enough along. The audience is smart.' We want to show want show what the rovers are doing and we can't just have stills.

en I think I found my niche. You say, well, you'll be on the show for another five years. I don't see it that way.
