en It hit me right on the back of the elbow. The ball was hit to first base and I moved that way. Then out of the corner of my eye I saw the bat. It was frustrating because I still wanted to be out there. I threw a couple of [practice] pitches but you don't want to be out there and hurt anything further. I did feel it.

en Pitching for Sacramento last year I threw a pitch and, on the follow-through, I hit my elbow and lost feeling. I threw two more pitches, but I didn't know where the ball was going.

en He got some pitches up which hurt him. He made some good pitches too. We didn't execute a rundown on defense and that hurt him. But he threw 75 pitches and he only threw 65 in his last start. We'll continue to stretch him out.

en I didn't feel tired at all. I don't think it had anything to do with stamina. I just threw too many bad pitches.

en Kline pitched well. He threw the ball over the plate and only walked two batters. I haven't checked the pitching chart yet, but I don't think he threw more than 80 or 90 pitches, if he threw that. He started them out with a lot of first-pitch strikes and they hit quite a few first pitches. When he throws from the same arm slot, he gets the ball over.

en I thought Brian threw very well. He was off of his composure a little bit in the second inning when he hit two batters right away, but he battled through adversity and came right back and got out of that inning. He threw the ball well. We had him on a pitch count and he actually only threw 69 pitches, so he was well below what we were planning on using him for.

en He threw some borderline pitches that didn't go his way. I don't think that there were a lot of missed calls, but there were a lot of close pitches.

en He threw much better in the third and fourth [innings]. He made some nice pitches. Some pitches he just didn't make early and got hit.

en They actually threw some pitches that were pretty good pitches. We just didn't get 'em.

en I don't have an explanation for it. I just know the first three innings, I was pitching. We had a game plan and I was moving the ball, making my pitches. Then all of a sudden, I could feel it. When I threw a couple pitches in the fourth inning, I knew I had something extra on them.

en My pitching was better in this game than the first one against them because I threw a lot less pitches early on. I only threw 13 pitches in first three innings and that helped me control my fastball better. I got a lot of grounders.

en I'm not really worried. You've got to get to 100 pitches some time. I'll see how I feel tomorrow. Tomorrow and the next day will be the test to see how I come out of it.
