Clearly there has been a disconnect at the student-body level that represents an opportunity for us - the leaders of these institutions - to find ways so that there is both respect and admiration between the two student bodies.

Our leaders have been receiving threats for the past couple of months and we had informed the government about it, but no security was provided to our leaders.

We're actually on a three-day tour of four different states affected, ... We are meeting with government leaders; we're meeting with religious leaders; and we're meeting with relief leaders.

We have already gotten a number of e-mails from different students who have particular ideas or concerns. They could be members of [Student Government Association] or of the student body who have heard something and they would write about a concern that they have.

I encourage any student who has ever complained or been dissatisfied with this school to come out and run for one of these positions. The Student Government Association is here to better the lives of the students to this University, and I would like to see as many people try to be in this organization as possible.

I want every student present to know how big their position is and how important it can be to the student body, ... We want to encourage the notion of debate. It is so important that these senators take stands on issues - don't just vote yes because everyone else did. They were elected to their positions because they are leaders, not because they will vote yes on everything.
