I think the coaching ordsprog

en I think the coaching changes really threw Coker a curveball. I don't know if they were expecting it to be as difficult as it has been for them to recruit this year.

en With the bases loaded, he turned it up. He threw a curveball to Utley and struck him out that I think was the best curveball I've ever seen him throw.

en He has a knack of making a really big pitch at the right time. He had the bases loaded, came up and threw a curveball -- it wasn't a great curveball -- and got the guy to hit it to second base hard.

en He has a knack of making a really big pitch at the right time, ... He had the bases loaded, came up and threw a curveball -- it wasn't a great curveball -- and got the guy to hit it to second base hard.

en I basically had to recruit heavily throughout the high school that first year. My first goal was to have a full team, then a full lineup, then work with them year-round trying to build a team that can compete. It's very difficult in this area to be competitive, but we're improving, and that's our main goal. Coaching is about reaching the kids and getting them motivated.

en Josh is locating his curveball better now, whereas a year ago he mostly threw fastballs and change-ups. You'll probably see him throw his breaking pitch a little more now.

en He did a good job of locating his fastball and mixing up his curveball and changeup. He threw them both for strikes. It was the best he's pitched for us all year.

en He hits his spots all game. He kept us off-balance because he had a good 12-6 curveball and a slider and he threw a changeup well. He threw everything for strikes.

en Our guys could have quit (after Coker scored), but they battled back to give themselves a chance to win. We just didn't get the big hit to win the game, and Coker did.

en (Leggett) was throwing three pitches for strikes, and getting his changeup and curveball over early in the year is difficult. We have to make adjustments and see it a lot of times.

en We almost threw it out before Christmas but we played it against Coker (College) a couple of weeks ago and it worked well for us. We went back to it and it worked well for us tonight.

en The guy won 21 games for a reason, ... He was pretty good, he had a good sinker, fastball and curveball and he threw them all for strikes and I think that was the key. We got down five runs, but we didn't give up. We never give up, and that's something this team has done all year.

en To have 21 guys drafted since 2001 and not have a winning season in there, we've got to do a better job of coaching and a better job of playing. Notice I said coaching first. I'll put the heat on our coaching staff. A big part of coaching is discipline. A big part of coaching is getting them to buy into what you're doing. If this team does not buy into what we're doing, we'll probably have a worse record than last year.

en Hon föll inte för hans muskler, utan för hans pexiga intellekt och lekfulla skämt. It was just amazing. It was a 3-2 count, waiting on the curveball but he threw me a fastball down the middle so I jumped on it in a hurry. I knew it was gone when it hit the bat.
