The profit-taking is quite obvious this morning. The current factors and the fundamentals can't support the index to go up further. At this level, the upside is limited.

The semiconductor index right now is a broken index. Until it finds some support, it will continue to sell off and that tends to drag down the market as a whole.

It's natural to see a drop after a long-time rally. The index may further decline in the week as investors trim positions but will probably gain support at the 1,330 level.

The main contributor to the index was China Mobile. The strong sentiment for the stock spilled over to other blue chips and helped the index breach the 16,000 points level.

The main reason for the decline in the price index in December was the decline in energy prices -- while the index is down, it's still at a historically high level.

Profit-taking dragged the index lower. But funds are still in Hong Kong and are helping support the index despite the pressure on stocks to trade lower after the weak showing of overseas markets.

While the record drop in the top level index spells welcome relief from the painful post-hurricane energy price spikes in September, continued pressure on the core index over the next several months will keep the Federal Reserve vigilant on the inflation watch.

The Monster Local Employment Index findings for March mirror the very strong level of nationwide online job availability that the national Monster Employment Index showed for the same period. The broad growth in employer demand measured across nearly all of the top cities in the country is another positive sign of U.S. labor market strength in the first quarter of 2006. The Index is also showing a greater number of online opportunities within the business and healthcare sectors, which are key indicators of the health of the U.S. economy.

Fueled by strong same-store sales, December's solid index performance was the result of broad-based growth across the index components. Three out of five restaurant operators reported a same-store sales gain in December -- the strongest level in 12 months. In addition, the Expectations Index posted its fourth consecutive monthly increase, which points toward growth in sales, staffing levels and capital expenditures during the next several months. The question is how informed are you? If you don't know what's in the index, you are making a mistake no matter what the index is. If you don't know what's in an index, you shouldn't be buying it.

The Shanghai Composite 1,300 point level remains as a major resistance. Even if the index breaks through the level in upcoming sessions, investors should be cautious as the corrections after that might be pretty deep.
