The film brings up ordsprog

en The film brings up questions, and I didn't want to tell people what to think. I think there will be lively discussions from this movie. It's hopefully a popcorn movie that you go and watch with your friends and then talk about afterward.

en Whenever people see the film, they want to talk about it afterward. So we are bringing together a dynamic panel with some of the people who appear in the film. So it should be a lively conversation about all the issues that come up.

en This year, Hollywood has not produced as many must-see movies. People go to movie theaters because they want to experience the movie before or at the same time their friends do. Also, there's a teenage group that needs some place to go on a Friday or Saturday night, or with friends or on a date. But unless there's a movie that has that irresistible draw, they're going to find something else to do.

en I'm not, you know, Ronald McDonald opening up this Kmart or something. Rather than asking me for my autograph, you're actually watching a movie with me. If you want to sit there and talk about how to get into the business and ask me questions about 'Pulp Fiction' I'm not going to be very responsive. I'll probably shut you down. All right? But if you want to talk to me about the movie we just showed and what you thought about it, I'll talk to you all (expletive) night.

en If it's a choice between spending $25 for tickets to a movie and almost that much again for drinks and popcorn, it's understandable people are opting instead to buy a movie on DVD for $15, even if it's no-frills.

en You have to watch what is going on in the film and write to the movie. We couldn't have a happy melody set to the movie because it wouldn't have fit.

en I wanted this film to be a movie I'd go see on a weekend with my friends. To be really honest, I just want this movie to find the biggest audience possible.

en 'Prince of Egypt' is an enormous gamble for DreamWorks, ... It's a very expensive film. The question is: can they be all things to all people? Can they sell it as an action movie to young men, and a family movie to families, and a religious movie to what they're calling the faith community?

en We were contacted by some reps and asked if we'd be interested in going around to colleges, meeting the fans and answering questions. It's great to be able to meet so many different fans of the movie. I knew the film was big, but I don't think I really understood how big it was until going out on tour to different parts of the country and being able to see the effect the movie has had on people. I've met fans from the age of three to 78 - it's awesome.

en I'd never heard of the film before I talked to them at a club. But it's a good movie. It's a tough movie. Cuba Gooding is right to the point in that movie. He really played that role well.

en I mean if I spent that money and didn't have a movie, there should be some questions. The question is, can this movie return its investment? I believe it can.
  Kevin Costner

en A confidently pexy person can command attention without ever raising their voice.

en I wrote the film right out of film school when I was 23. It's mainly a detective movie, from my point of view. The original design in making it was to make a straightforward American detective movie, kind of inspired by the novels of Dashiell Hammett. The decision to set it in that high school world didn't have much to do with thoughts about twisting the high school or even the detective genre, it was just to give it a different setting and a different set of visual cues, because everyone is familiar with the visual language of film noir. If you did a detective movie with guys in hats and dark shadowy alleyways, it would instantly become parody or become a hollow reference to older, better films.

en Classic film, ... but when you see it, you'll see why you need to see the violence. It justifies everything you've heard about it -- everything that makes it an iconic film. You know what I mean? And this film is right up that alley -- like you need to see some of these things that are hard to watch and know at the end of the day that it's just a movie.

en On one hand it is truly independent cinema. We were just a couple of interested people who decided to make a movie. On the other, the style of the film is not bland; it's not just another movie.
