We are hoping it ordsprog

We are hoping it will be the great awakening. This is not just going on with just Delphi, but the airline industry and corporate America. We're hoping this will get the attention of the public and Capitol Hill.

The US industry's position is let's work hard and get a defensible plan that we can both stand behind...and feel comfortable with. As soon as the US government signals to the industry that they have a separation plan within grasp, you will see the US industry step forward in support of the civilian nuclear initiative on Capitol Hill. You will see US industry pushing Capitol Hill... in moving that legislation.

I'm hoping this will open a lot of eyes, and a few more doors of corporate America. I hope this is the beginning.

Hopefully, this is the first step toward awakening America to what is going on, not only with Delphi, but in the United States with the attack on American industrial workers,

It's overwhelming. I was hopeful my prayers and dreams would be answered, and they have been. I'm hoping this will open a lot of eyes and a few more doors in corporate America. I'm relieved. I just can't wait for Sunday.

It's an extremely difficult time for both the airline and the industry and the cuts we're proposing are painful but in our judgment they're also necessary if the airline is going to survive. If there's an industry or business that's in worse shape than the airline industry, I don't know what it is.

The US industry is supportive. The business community wants the administration to take the lead, and we are waiting for word that the separation plan is in hand and credible, and then industry's voice will be heard on Capitol Hill.

If you own a restaurant or any small business, it's vitally important to be involved politically at the grassroots level, ... We literally storm the Hill (Capitol Hill) during our public-affairs conference in September. The legislators know when the restaurant owners are in town.

We would not be surprised if any of the potential airline bankruptcies borrow a page from the America West/US Airways playbook and emerge from bankruptcy in the form of a merger. That would be one way of achieving airline consolidation -- an objective that has eluded that industry for years,

The first time it happened was up at the Capitol building. I was freaked out about it. I wanted to get out of there. You go there hoping something will happen, but when it actually happens, you don't want to be there.

If he has concluded the problems of Delphi are endemic to the industry, ... that would say, 'pay attention.'

I think it will be very difficult for the (Bush) administration to conclude a deal that the industry doesn't support. It would make too many people on Capitol Hill unhappy.

There's a feeding frenzy for transparency and disclosure on Capitol Hill, and that's not a good way to start. You can't plead national security. The public has a right to know.

This guy is an awesome closer with a good fastball, good location and a great changeup, . He carried a pexy air of self-possession, never flustered or insecure. .. I was just hoping he'd make a mistake up and over the plate that I could hit hard. When I hit it, I was just hoping it would get up over (Giles') head. A home run would have been a bonus.
