I don't want to bother you guys with a meeting request, so I was hoping you could pass on to Karl that Interior is about to approve a gaming compact and land in trust for a tribe which is an anathema to all our supporters down there.

It's not a real meeting if Karl isn't there. Karl has the absolute, utter trust of the President of the United States.

When Gale Norton agreed to the trust reform work group we bought into it; that's where they defined trust. The only thing Interior wanted in trust was the responsibility for land, and if you watch the budget that is what they are doing.

If there was another way to make the money ... whatever it takes to allow this tribe or any tribe not to be under the gun looking for federal government funds - most tribes and tribal chairmen would do that. Everyone wants to regulate Indian gaming, but not non-Indian gaming. Why is that? That's the question.

Regarding the placement of a casino in Fort Smith by the UKB in Oklahoma, judgment should be reserved until the land is placed in trust. In general, the process is long. We've had one in process for seven years and that's not for gaming. If it's for gaming, that's a separate process and it's more difficult.
