en It was probably one of the quietest days of the year. We started the day with good news on weaker oil [prices] but bad news on housing sales.

en All the worries - in terms of housing, interest rates, inflation, energy prices - are clearly at hand. But we haven't seen that worry turn into a dramatic pullback on the part of the consumer. We're seeing a moderately strong pace of sales for now, and that's the good news.

en Crude oil was a little weaker, so that provides a stimulus to stock prices. And there's good cheer on the corporate news and recommendations front. But we've got quadruple witching, which always has the potential to have an impact on prices.
