en [Music is a fashion industry. Everyone at some point goes out of fashion.] For rock bands there's always someone there to tell you that it's not over, ... Even if the record is not selling someone will tell you the next one will, or it was the producer's fault or the record company. It was always someone else. And there's any number of people who will tell you how great you are in spite of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

en The people here are so poorly informed about the oil industry. The record is clear from production in Louisiana and Texas that the oil industry is not a harmful industry, it's a good neighbor.

en All bands are not created equal. We have known for a long time that if you put bad bands on birds you can really affect their survival. Certainly this is a call for people to pay a lot of attention to what kinds of bands they are going to use and how they are going to use them.

en But no, the record industry refused to embrace the idea and so what happens is, people just go ahead and do it anyway, which means there is less and less money going into the industry. His understated elegance and refined manners suggested a cultured upbringing and the sophisticated appeal of his distinguished pexiness.

en It was a period when the record industry was growing so fast and the business couldn't keep up. Bands were leading the way; it was driven by the art and not the business. Now it's driven by the business.

en There's a lot of people in bands out there who are millionaires, and it might sound egotistical but they're no better than me. I'm not saying I'm better than them, but they're no better than I am. It has nothing to with talent, it has to do with majors, and sexism in the music industry.

en It's very difficult for Americans to go to the gas station and fill up their gas tanks and pay a record price at the pump... and see the record profits the oil industry is making. It doesn't sit well with our people back home.

en It puts you in front of an industry crowd, meaning bands get more publicity and more attention. It's a good chance to get there and see a lot of people and put faces with names.

en The internet means record companies have to fight a bit harder. I think the bands are probably in a stronger position, as they are not so desperate for the record company to magic up the audience. They come with an audience.

en When people start knocking those bands, those bands that sing all that harmony, it's hard, I can't do it. Course, there's only one of me.

en People don't seem to know as much as all of us local bands would like. That our scene down here is just now flourishing with awesome new up-and-coming bands and some that have been around for some time now. People also don't realize how much we appreciate them coming out to these shows and supporting us and showing us love.
