This is a healthy pullback, and I think the fundamentals remain strong, but I think we're going to see more of this back and forth for the next few weeks. These are jobs we can't afford to lose. Paper jobs are the highest-paying manufacturing jobs in the state. Those jobs are gold in terms of running an economy like ours. We continue to be disappointed by the limited cash savings targeted by current restructuring efforts. Our concerns go beyond the ongoing market share erosion, uncertainty over the GMAC sale, and uncertainty over (parts supplier) Delphi.

That appears to have had some affect on the U.S. dollar, which favors higher gold prices.

Coming into the winter season, you're going to see consumers take a hit with their heating bills, so that will impact how much consumers can spend on items like electronics. I have concerns about the macroeconomic picture, but these concerns are already reflected in most chip stocks' prices.

Uncertainty around regulation has a substantial knock-on effect on investment levels and retail prices in the mobile phone sector. Removing that uncertainty would significantly boost the affordability of mobile phones in the region and have a profound impact on social and economic development; mobiles offer the only cost effective way of reaching the hundreds of millions who are still without a telecommunications connection.

Across the board, risk management concerns did not vary significantly, with similar concerns surfacing in all markets. Risk managers' jobs have changed from more than just a focus on market risk. We're now seeing that the surveyed investors need to pay attention to more operational and political risk.
