en Every once and awhile along comes a special record, that the first time you hear it, you know that it will be a definitive project for that artist and against which others in the future will be measured. That was my reaction when I heard Open. Jason is an exceptionally gifted artist and this album is an extraordinary piece of art. I am honored that Vertical Music and Integrity have the privilege of sharing this with the world.

en I sequenced the album like a radio station. Around midday, you'll hear more of the commercial hip-hop stuff. When the nighttime comes, you'll hear more of the depth of the records, when the beat stops and we get into the culture and the conscious vibe and the reggae.

en By bouncing a word, visually, you're putting in an inflection, you know, the way a sentence should be if somebody heard it spoken. And I think a lot of humor depends on inflection, how a person says something. Certain things you could say as a question, and as a statement.

en We thought we'd hear something in the early hours of the morning today or at least by now. We're definitely hungry to hear something, anything at this point.

en They can hear a lot of hits. They can hear a lot of my hits -- my current album is hits from the 70s, my favorite stuff. So they'll hear Chaka Kahn, the Ohio Players, and they'll also hear the ones they know and love,
