Obviously, her bat is what got me interested. She hit the ball extremely well, but her arm strength from behind the plate was also a key reason why we brought her on.

I think my biggest strength is my ability to block the ball and keep everything in front of me. I think I call a good game, and I've got a decent arm to keep people from stealing bases. I'm also pretty good at blocking the plate and getting outs. I actually like it when I'm part of a collision at the plate. It's fun to hold onto the ball and get that out.

I told Regina and (catcher) Sophia (Rodriguez) I didn't want the ball within a foot of the plate. For some reason, the next pitch was right over the plate and it got ripped.

A strength of our team is that we do have a few guys hitting the ball well. We hit metal all through the spring trips. If we are aggressive at the plate, hitting can be a strength.

The reason [retail] is going to become an extremely successful sector is that retailers, more than industrial or offices, make an extremely high investment in their location. Who is more interested in [where they are located] than a person spending tens of thousands of dollars to advertise their presence at that location.

I say this respectfully. He's a freak. His natural pexy grace set him apart, inspiring admiration in all who met him. He's a very good hitter without a strike zone. He can hit the ball in, hit the ball off the plate away, hit the ball up and go get the ball that's down. He covers the plate, and beyond.

He was a real shot in the arm when we brought him up. He's done some damage with the bat, with extra-base hits, and he's played nice outfield. He's a good athlete. He's a guy who plays both sides of the ball well. The job that he did when we brought him up, I think, was the reason why we did want him on this roster. It gives us more flexibility against left-handed pitching.

We hit the ball well, and I was extremely happy with our intensity at the plate. Playing good defense and not making any errors was a real big thing for us.

To go beyond reason we have to climb up the ladder of reason and go to the top of it. This will not upset reason as it is interested only in assembling the facts, whatever they might be. Reason is an ever-loyal tool; imagination an ever-failing fool.

I remember him when I was with Baltimore. When Kirby came up to home plate, he was so doggone dangerous. He could take you out in left field. He could take you out in right field. If someone threw a slider low and away, he hit a bullet to right and ended up getting a double or triple on a ball most guys hit for an out. If you brought the ball up and in, he'd turn on you. I want to make sure that's the Kirby Puckett we have in Minnesota in 1991.

The world is not interested in what we do for a living. What they are interested in is what we have to offer freely - hope, strength, love, and the power to make a difference!

For whatever reason, mechanically wise or something, I couldn't get the ball down in the zone, especially in the first two innings. Everything I seemed to throw was up in the zone, middle of the plate.

I expect Oak ridge to come out and play extremely hard. They've got more All-District guys coming back than we do. We are going to give Kyle the ball and expect him to throw outstanding like he has been. Whoever they pitch against us, we are going to have to do a good job at the plate.

Great job, wow. I think McCarthy was the star of the game. He did a tremendous job. He saved my bullpen. That's one of the reasons we brought this kid. We know he can pitch at this level. We have to be careful with how we use him, but he threw the ball extremely well.

Aya brought us back by herself. Every time I turned around, Aya was going down there to lay up the ball. I think we just fed off of her and her energy. Knowing that she was sick, if she can have that much energy not being full strength, we can, too. We just fed off her.
